HPSCI and SSCI leadership overcame @DevinNunes' objections by stripping out intelligence whistleblowing reforms, passed through HPSCI and bipartisanly through SSCI. I'm going to write about the reforms with specificity, had been waiting to see the final bill, but I'm not happy.
Here's a great piece by @ak_mack on Nunes' objections (with @NatlSecCnslrs and I talking about the whistleblowing provisions). foreignpolicy.com/2020/12/11/dev…
And for POLITICO Pro subscribers, here's @martinmatishak's piece on the compromise legislation moving with the omni. Believe he was the first (and only) to report on the successful compromise.
Lastly, as a quick clarifier, I'm not unhappy with the proposed reforms--on the contrary, I'm thrilled--but I'm unhappy they were scrapped to appease a rogue Ranking Member. Whistleblowers and the IC need these reforms ASAP; partisans shouldn't stand in the way.

Whistleblowers are our government's eyes and ears on the ground. During a global pandemic, their voices are critical to oversight. A lack of test kits? Ventilators? Endangering federal employees or the public? Each whistleblower has a story to tell and the right to be heard. 1/5
This morning @GovAcctProj released a guide for federal workers seeking to speak truth to power. It's a free resource, and we're hoping it'll get into the hands of those who need it. No employee should ever feel gagged or unable to report wrongdoing. whistleblower.org/wp-content/upl… 2/5
Some whistleblowers are restricted to reporting through internal channels. Others can tell their stories straight to journalists and the public at large. Hopefully, this guide clarifies how workers can wrap themselves in their legal rights when blowing the whistle. 3/5
