Lee was long celebrated as the greatest Virginian after Washington. He drew admirers across the political spetrum: Eisenhower, JFK, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford. Churchill called him "the noblest American"
“Every citizen may freely speak, write and publish his or her sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of that right; and no law shall be passed to restrain or abridge the liberty of speech or of the press.”— NYS constitution
Reminder that it’s the New York constitution that matters here as the U.S. Constitution only applies to the federal govt — a point all but forgotten these days

I initially presumed the Texas suit would be nonsense. Then I read it & it actually makes a compelling case. The Constitution specifies state legislatures govern the process of picking electors — yet in these states, courts or state officials usurped this power
MSNBC/CNN spending this morning attacking the Texas suit as “frivolous”; I’ve yet to hear anyone actually explain the argument; they just mock it, as if that’s helpful to their viewers.
