As long as people remain financially illiterate, believing that money is an esoteric item that can be multiplied through processes they don't understand, be it the money-doubling witch doctor or the pyramid scheme labelled as an "investment program," they'll keep losing it.
Money is not real, first of all. It is simply an arbitrary measure of economic value. To obtain money, a corresponding amount of economic value must be created. When people attempt skip the economic value and go straight to money, it results in crime and loss.
When governments do the same thing, it results in hyperinflation and economic collapse.

If you're attempting to skip value creation and jump straight to money by hitting "buy" and "sell" on stuff you can't begin to understand, you're the same as a gambler at a slot machine.
Don't think for one moment that the fact that you learned a few words like "leverage" and "arbitrage" and you use a trading program on your computer makes you any different from Jimoh the Baba Ijebu addict who thinks his N20 will make him a millionaire.

You're both the same.
All you're doing is giving your pennies to JP Morgan and Ray Dalio, same as Jimoh is giving his pennies to Akin Alabi and Baba Ijebu - those are the people who are in business, and you're just the mark.

You better stop being someone else's value creation gig and go learn a skill

I feel like the point still isn't getting across, so I'll let @AntonKreil explain the monumental scam that is retail trading (forex, stocks, crypto, commodities etc).

It's a 2 hour video that will save you your hard earned money and spare you salty tears.
Summary: Brokerage and trading platforms are NOT your friend. They have a clear and explicit interest in helping you to trade as often as possible because they make mo eyes every single time you click "buy" or "sell."

Said platforms EXPECT you to lose all your money.
They operate on a rule known within the industry as 90-90-90: 90% of retail traders lose 90% of their money within 90 days.

Their business model DEPENDS on constantly bringing in new schmucks to lose all their money on the platform.

The reason I am not interested in living life as a performance to appease or appeal to anyone is that I watched my dad die in front of me.

I watched them lower his casket into his grave and I understood that no matter what you do in this life, YOU WILL DIE BY YOURSELF.
Whichever constituency you try to appease, whichever people you befriend or make enemies of, whatever relationship you are trying to preserve, the day you breathe the last time, none of it will matter again.

Since I will definitely die one day, I might as well live while I can.
Someone told me last night that they tried to syndicate something I wrote on a Nigerian platform you're familiar with, and the editor said no because David Hundeyin has been designated as an enemy of the house.

I laughed and poured more Coke into my Hennessy.

You'll be alright.

I have a crude idea in my head that I want people to eithet refine or dismantle.

The big problem Africa has with mobilising its natural resources to achieve results is that the mobilisation invariably needs money to get this done - and money is something we don't have much of.
What this means is that for example Zambia and Kenya might have all the natural (and human) resources to build a railway to each other, but without x bn dollars, those resources cannot be utilised and will lie fallow until they are exported cheaply for other people's benefit.
They also cannot use quantitative easing (printing money) as a solution because the Kenyan shilling and the Zambian kwacha are not mutually convertible.

In other words, without vast amounts of USD or GBP or EUR or JPY or RMB, Africa currently CANNOT build itself.

We're lucky we're so poor because if we weren't, those Russian and North Korean hackers would be making billions off our poorly-secured data like taking candy from a baby.

Like 5 different Nigerian govt agencies have our entire identity dataset including biometrics.

Why?
More importantly, is that data being stored in plain, unencrypted format on some unsecured server somewhere in Maitama?

It likely is, because that's how Nigeria does things.

Those hackers aren't interested for now simply because the data is worth nothing at present.
We need a Nigerian GDPR-style framework where everyone (govt inclusive) has to explain in granular detail WHY they need our data, WHAT it is used for and HOW it is stored.

Passport data dump
BVN data dump
MVAA data dump
PVC data dump
NIN data dump
SIM registration data dump.

I know what I went through at KMPG UK and at Channels TV because of office politics. If I'm carrying the matter on my head, e get why.

If you smear me with the "misogynist" label because of that, I am here to tell you that it is 100% your problem. It's your electricity and data.
The difference between Oge and I is that I was raised by the world's biggest bully, so from age 5 or so I have learned to fight for my fucking life.

If not for that reservoir of violence, I could have ended up in a similar situation to her.

This shit is very personal for me.
I HATE people whose main skill in life is knowing how to network, make friends and grift their way through stuff without actually being exceptional at anything.

I hate them because they feed on the output of people like us who prefer to just work and let it speak for us.

Nothing to see here. Just a few friends hanging out a few months before someone not in the pictures was forced to take her name off her work which was supervised by someone in the pictures, so that another person in the pictures could become a star.

Just Nigeria Nigeria-ing...
Before the inevitable delete.
Favour over labour baby.
