Steny Hoyer requests UC for the $2,000 checks, is reminded that it cannot be considered without clearance of the minority leader. And that’s that.
Then Debbie Dingell, in the chair, adjourns with, “Merry Christmas.”
Pelosi says she'll offer the bill next week when Congress comes back to override the NDAA veto: "If the President is serious about the $2,000 direct payments, he must call on House Republicans to end their obstruction."
And seriously, this Merry Christmas' from Debbie Dingell is about the most disgusted, sarcastic I've heard in a while, after Republicans blocked quick $2,000 check legislation.

AOC, just now on the House floor: "I walked back out, and there were reporters in the front of the Capitol, and in front of reporters representative Yoho called me, and I quote, a fucking bitch."
More AOC: "Yoho's comments were not deeply hurtful or piercing.. I have worked a working class job.
I have waited tables in restaurants. I have ridden the subway. I have walked the streets in New York City. And this kind of language is not new..."

Nancy Pelosi wants to remove 11 Confederate statues from the Capitol. So, who are we talking about?

First on the list is Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederacy.
Second, Robert E. Lee, the Confederate general.
Then there's Alexander Stephens, vice president. He delivered the infamous speech calling the cornerstone of the Confederacy the "great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition."

Source tells me Republicans removed a provision that would ensure a coronavirus vaccine would be fully covered by Medicare
This would probably be what McConnell castigated this morning as a Dem bid to "test-drive some untried, untested, and controversial parts of their 'Medicare-for-All' proposal."
House Dem aide says it's a $8.3 BILLION measure.
includes: $3 B for R&D
$2.2B for prevention, preparedness, and response (with $950M for state and local agencies
Nearly $1B med supplies, health care preparedness, Community Health Centers
$1.25B to deal coronavirus overseas.
