Here’s the thing.

The “Republicans” said no to getting two thousand dollars out to the American people.

All that bullshit about foreign aid is a hustle.

It has nothing to do with Americans suffering right now. 👇🏼
I put “Republicans” in quotes because these aren’t the tough on Russia, fiscally conservative (not just when it fucked an opponents attempts to support Americans), uptight but true blue, party of Lincoln of bygone days.
👇🏼
I wasn’t crazy about George H. W. Bush, for example, but I respected him as a commander in chief. I slept ok at night knowing a guy like him was at the helm. 👇🏼
I knew I was a bleeding heart liberal and given my druthers,I’d give away the farm.I was glad there was somebody on the other side carefully counting the beans. It felt like there was a compromise in the middle that was good for everybody and that both sides wanted to find it.👇🏼
Now, one can watch these guys in the Grand Old Party driving the country into the ground so their rich buddies can buy everything up for a song, slow walking and sabotaging anything that is for the people so their rich buddies can privatize.
The more they fuck everything up, the more they can scapegoat the ensuing chaos and misery on their opponents, minorities, foreigners, whatever.

I want to emphasize that I grew up respecting and appreciating the Republican Party.

But:👇🏼
I don’t know how Ronald Reagan got turned into some kind of a saint. Nice guy. Handsome. Looked good on a horse.

Gutted education, paving the way for the idiocracy we find ourselves in today.

Trickle down economics. Paved the way to the economic injustice we have today.
The Democrats have their problems. They don’t always get it right.

But the general idea is that the government exists to create the exoskeleton for a fair and benevolent society. A society of the people, by the people, for the people. (A Republican said that)👇🏼
George Washington, for all his faults, did something very cool. He was offered plenary power, absolute power.

He was a materialistic, proud guy.

That had to be a very attractive offer to a man like him.

The U.S. wasn’t quite a democracy yet....

He said no.
He also said anyone who said he ought to be king was no friend of his. Quite the opposite.

These GOP guys almost had absolute power dropped in their lap and they didn’t say anything.

The Republican Party I respected would have gone berserk.
Anyway. My heart goes out to the people who are struggling this holiday.

The only way I can see to fix this shit show is the flip Georgia, undo all the gerrymandering craziness in force the GOP to get back to the true platform if they ever want to win another election.
I say this with love.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year unto ye all.
