I wish the problems in the US system were small enough to only be the fault of one political party.
Trump’s been a truly horrible President as he proves every day up to his departure.

And the GOP leaders have enabled him.

But he was elected because the entire political establishment forgot about the average American.

Nothing gets fixed unless these lessons are learned.
This is not a “centrist” perspective.

The US political center supports special interests and a status quo that has driven unsustainable inequality of opportunity.

It’s inconsistent with the American Dream and why—despite US superpower—most Americans no longer believe in it.
The role of money in the US political system has become corrosive in a way that wildly outstrips any other modern democracy.

I’d argue that gap—the US across the board compared to others—is greater than the gap between Democrats and Republicans.

Will Donald Trump fade away like Joe McCarthy and Ross Perot?

@harrispolitico says so in a new op-ed. I'm not so sure.

@EurasiaGroup's @lieber2k, @clayton_allen, Jeff Wright, @ArgenzioRegina, and I picked up #TheRedPen to explain why with @gzeromedia. gzeromedia.com/the-red-pen/do…

Will @realDonaldTrump leave @JoeBiden with a US foreign policy broken beyond repair?

@washingtonpost's @joshrogin thinks so, but @EurasiaGroup’s Jeffrey Wright and I have our doubts.

That means it’s time for another edition of @gzeromedia’s #TheRedPen. gzeromedia.com/video/fixing-u… Image

It’s patriotic to care about those from other countries.
It’s patriotic to criticize your government when you disagree with it.

Fox and MSNBC watchers (and NYT readers) are overwhelmingly partisan.

All about consuming only the information you already agree with. Image
If you’re American and really interested in mainstream but unbiased news, watch an hour of global coverage from outside US—say DW and NHK world.
As for twitter, if you don’t follow people you actively disagree with but intellectually respect, you’re making it worse.
