this gives them too much of an out. while the dems dont have the leeway to go "full socialism," the cautious is extremely ridiculous. even if you argue - legitmately - the party is center-left moderate, they too often play on gop territory on economics.
im in a weird squishy place where i find leftist critiques unrealistic and party adherent defenses unimaginative.
to use a sports analogy, the dems can't put the ball on the opposing team's 5 yard line like leftists want, but the party has a habit of also putting the ball on their own 20 yard line. put it the other team's 40 yard line, at least. make them play defense.

folks over the last 3 weeks ive binged almost the entire run of the crown. im now halfway through season 4. i believe alongside my watching of doctor who and sherlock, that i have honorary british citizenship and can authoritatively offer commentary on brexit and the troubles
i like the show though i have to say i like the first 3 seasons more than the most recent, but mostly because i was *vaguely* aware of what was happening at that point. i knew nothing of the royals pre-diana, so ive learned a lot. now im like "THIS MARRIAGE IS DOOMED"
i feel extremely qualified to either be a member of the royal family or a member of parliament at this point, having watched the fictionalized cliffs notes of the last half-century of uk history.

i mean, we all remember the spirit of the war and the queens jubilee, do we not?

tapper has spent the last four years inviting on one trump liar after another but wants credit now for not bringing on mcenany. lol ok.
the way people fall for these anchors, over and over again, seriously erodes my already depleted levels of respect for the crowd. wake up, none of them are on the side of the public.
they make one viral moment and 90% of my twitter feed gets hot and heavy about it, never mind the thousands of surrounding hours. every time.

Are there no workhouses?
This Summers stuff is the kind of things leftists criticize liberals over. And in this respect they are absolutely right. We’re in the midst of one of the biggest crises and this argument that we shouldn’t help people too much is reprehensible.
America has tons of money. We have giant sloshing gallons of money, and there are also billionaires and millionaires who haven’t been paying their fair share and who should be taxed for it. And we have millions of people in pain and we should help them.

Last night he jumped up higher than I expected, stole a slice of cheese that nearly choked him cause it was too big as I chased him around the house to get it out of his airway. Slightly terrifying but now retroactively hilarious and I'm never underestimating how high he can jump
me, an idiot, puts food on tray and assumes a dachshund cant jump that high and goes to the other room for a minute

kal-el, ingenious thief, understands four-inch legs are no impediment to actually jumping high enough to steal food from said tray.
he was like, this cheese is actually too big for me and its making me choke, but i want to eat it and also you're chasing me so i am going to try and run away and chew it at the same time!

it was one of the most insane things he's done.

this simply isn't what happened. legislation passed the house.
if pelosi floated an idea and it didn't go anywhere, that would maybe be a point. but the heroes act passed the house. it technically even had bipartisan support (one gop vote) clerk.house.gov/Votes/2020109
for a purportedly nonpartisan reporter to now say "doesn't count" is pretty sad and weak and of course... typical.
