I appreciate his clarification. As a Jewish believer, I was initially offended that he was attempting to rob us of what the Bible makes very clear. And I still do think using the genealogy in Matthew as a paradigm for ethnic diversity is a very exaggerated application. The reason
2/ I say that, is if it was the intended purpose to display eschatological kingdom diversity, then Matthew would not do so by including only Canaanites and a Moabite. Instead, it would be like Acts 8–10; you first have the salvation of the Ethiopian, a descendant of Ham, then
3/ Saul, a descendent of Shem, and then Cornelius, a descendent of Japeth. You have Noah’s three sons; it’s as clear as day that this paves the way for the rest of the book of Acts (international ministry). The genealogy of Matthew doesn’t do anything like this. But it does
4/ display salvation to those who are far off. So the author was right about that. With my criticism still being said, I also want to affirm this man is a solid brother of Christ. He is not a cultural Marxist. He is orthodox, he has clarified his intent in what he meant, and
5/ people need to give him a break. If you try to cancel him like the leftist cancel culture tries to cancel us, then you’re no better. Instead you’re just an ignorant hypocrite that assumes the worst and is suspicious of all statements of clarification. In fact, you are simply
6/ acting like the proponents of CRT, drinking from the same kind of venom and spitting it on those you think you disagree with. Do you think that you know the heart and therefore can reject the actual clarifying words as a dishonest cover? If that’s you, I can tell you right
7/ now, I don’t think you are any use to the kingdom. Go and actually read your Bible cover to cover, meditate on a few scriptures every day, even take the time to memorize some, and then come back and start serving the Lord. I was able to read the article, express my frustration
8/ at what I thought was happening, but then I was able to read the author’s clarification, and still peacefully disagree with the application without vilifying him as a heretic. Everybody should be able to do that. Those who can’t are actually guilty of destroying, or at least
9/ trying to destroy, God‘s temple. And 1 Corinthians 3 offers a significant warning to those who do that. So be careful. You may think you’re acting as a stalwart of orthodoxy, but if you eat those who are orthodox because they use a couple words you don’t like, you’re the one
10/ with the problem. Leave this guy alone and move on.

I think many Christians who lend tacit support to organizations that are Marxist, anti-nuclear family, and anti-binary sexuality are kicking against the goads and actually opposing God. Their motivation may be something that is good. I mean who doesn’t want to oppose injustice
2/ where it may be found? But there is something far more theological that is being missed. Many of the protesters/rioters are actual anarchists wanting to blow up the structures and systems of society. That’s why they attack police officers, that’s why they burn buildings down,
3/ that’s why they loot, and that’s why some of their “priestly” philosophers within the intelligentsia go on the radio and advocate for looting as a form of justice. Listen, as soon as God spoke to universe into existence, in the first nanosecond it was unordered, formless, void

PSA: Some folks with a public platform need to consider what they do. There are some who consistently use their podcasts to cast doubt on the SBC. They play soundbites of famous speakers that display them in a really negative light, and then pastors like me have to deal with
2/ church members who follow these podcasts and wonder why were still part of a “liberal” denomination. Well, me and my co-pastors will spend hours watching the full videos to see if it’s true, rather than just a soundbite, and to date almost all times, the soundbite was a
3/ dishonest representation of what was said during the whole teaching. In most cases the whole teaching was fully orthodox and actually quite good. It takes these discernment podcasters 20 seconds to take something out of context and two minutes of commentary for them to wrongly

Some critiques I see of “white evangelicalism“ complain about some things the Bible actually clearly commands. It’s as if people disagree with what the Bible says, and want for themselves the final authority to disobey it and then blame a Christian subculture as if it’s because
2/ ethnicity. That’s ridiculous. And of course, I am pretty sure there will be simple blind spots as well as blatant errors in white evangelicalism, just as there is in black Christianity, Messianic Judaism, etc. That’s not my point. The point is this. When you critique white
3/ evangelicalism for the things that it actually gets right, you are making it clear that you value human epistemological authority over the Scriptures. You reveal that you have placed a lens of race and ethnicity over the scripture to such a degree that you will disparage what

As one who rejects CRT, I must ask, however, do most Christians who reject CRT also reject Platonism? After all, it was adopted as an analytical system but Christianized. Plato and his thinking was as pagan as you get, and the Greek metaphysical thinking patterns were not the
2/ same as that Hebraic patterns of Scripture. And yet most conservatives believe the tools & vocabulary from Platonism were useful in explicating aspects of the early Christological debates. Justin Martyr leaned too much on Plato, to where he ended up with a Christ that was less
3/ than the Father. Athanasius & the Cappadocian fathers appropriated platonic vocabulary in just the right amount, to where they ended up with a fully biblical explanation of trinitarianism. What’s my point? Be consistent. No matter what pagan system of thought is presented,

I want to pass on a very important Hebraic hermeneutical principle that will help you in understanding Scripture. Learn to think with two hands! This principle is all over the OT and the NT. The Apostles thought in these terms, and Christ taught in these terms. Very helpful IMO.
Example: As humans with a finite capacity to understand, certain things in life seem inconsistent, but they're not--they're just beyond us. So thinking with two hands is holding both ideas, each in a different hand. So for example, the Bible uncompromisingly teaches salvation is
2/ the result of monergistic election in eternity past. Yet, it also teaches that you must believe and you are responsible for your unbelief. To our tiny brains, these ideas are in opposition, but the Bible affirms both are true. So you are to think with both hands. A Western,

I’m not sure if you caught the irony, but the left spun the RNC as if Trump was the Czar. This is their way of declaring him an autocrat. Besides the fact that such an accusation is absurd, consider the history. Who killed the czar and murdered his entire family (including his
2/ children), thus overthrowing the Russian government in order to obliterate social systems? That’s right, the Marxists. Who became far more autocratic than the czar ever was? That’s right the Marxists. Who created systems and structures that were exponentially more oppressive?
3/ That’s right the Marxists. I am no prophet, but I’m telling you this. It is no accident that the progressive wing of our society is calling the POTUS a czar. It’s no accident that the young radicals assault women and children wearing hats that support the POTUS. They are
