We went to the beach for the weekend and when I was checking in the hotel we couldn’t find the room so we parked in the parking lot and a man was dragging and unconscious woman out of his car. When we pulled up he pushed her back in, ran to driver seat and closed doors.

I had no idea what to do because I don’t call the cops and also I didn’t know if she was in dire need so maybe was no time. Also my kids were in my car. So I go find out room and get my wife and kids in there. Then I knocked on his window and he wouldn’t answer.

Never in my life was I so happy to be armed. He would not open the door and I know he could hear me. I stood there trying to get him out but he locked up. My wife told me to come back. I told the front desk. Idk what happened but I also don’t know what I was supposed to do?!?

In hindsight I thought most likely was both were very drunk and he was acting sketch cuz he didn’t want a DUI. But also, it could have been DV, SA, or date rape. But front desk assured me they would stay at far till he came out. They also did say they might call cops.

My heart was racing but I can’t explain how limp she was. And we thought if she was just drunk he would just say “ya my wife is very drunk” or something. He had no reason to be sketch unless he was scared or a DUI or saw my firearm.

Anyways, was very scary and I hope she is okay and I say all this to say that nobody ever knows what to do in these situations. Everyone wants to be a hero but there is no hero handbook. But I was ready to squeeze lol.

What would you do?

Also his windows were super tinted so I couldn’t see what he had or was doing inside. “Mind your business” was not an option if you would have seen this woman.

Call the cops and risk getting shot myself? Bust his window? Escalate? Idk.

I feel like I did the best I could because my family is safe and he was not allowed to just continue. But I have no idea what happened to her.

A very similar situation happened to me recently but I wasn’t armed and a man was in a fight with a woman in a parking lot and it looked violent but I couldn’t tell. I asked a dude with his gf in a car by me to go over with me and he said no. So I went by myself. Cops came.

Also, at this point many people know the story of me breaking up the most brutal fight ever and holding someone against the wall while the other got away and then getting arrested for holding someone against their will so have some trauma around these interventions.
