Hawley is unequivocally calling for election results to be overturned, something no sitting Senator in US history has ever advocated

and NYT politely types it up as “answering Trump’s call.” whatever the F that means
there aren’t two sentences in that 1,100-word NYT story that adequately capture the radical recklessness of Hawley’s actions

when Pelosi went on CNN in Oct to say exactly this, Wolf Blitzer started yelling at her why wouldn’t she accept WH relief plan—a WH relief plan that had zero GOP Senate support
ie. it was never going to be voted on in GOP Senate and *Pelosi* from the House was to blame
in 9 mos, I’ve never seen a CNN host yell at a Republican abt blocking Covid relief

Democratic messaging, a quick thread.

in wake of Covid bill and how press is inexplicably given McConnell credit, despite fact he blocked crucial aid for 9 mos, i know lots of people are frustrated Dems don't message better.

i am, too! 1/
too many Dem leaders still view the press as being on 'their side' and trust it do the right thing, when so clearly they are not.

instead, press feeds of GOP talking points all the time. 2/
but it's too easy to overlook the fact GOP benefits from billion-dollar $$, right-wing media messaging machine that does its dirty work 24/7

top-rated cable TV 'news.' 8 out of top 10 hits on FB every day. virtually every AM talk radio station in US. newsletters, mags etc 3/
