McConnell on Sanders call to pass $2K bill vs NDAA veto override."He will slow down this vital bill unless he gets to muscle thru another stand alone proposal from Speaker Pelosi that would add roughly a half a trillion to nat'l debt..which has no realistic path to quickly pass."
McConnell on combining $2K checks, Section 230 repeal and election integrity review:"3 of the President's priorities in one Senate process. That was the commitment and that's what happened yesterday when I introduced text reflecting just what the President had in fact requested."
McConnell:"Senate is not going split apart the 3 issues that Pres Trump linked together just because Democrats are afraid to address 2 of them.Senate's not going to be bullied into rushing out more borrowed money into the hands of Democratic rich friends who don't need the help."

Sanders from Senate floor calling for Senate to pass $2,000 bill: "We have a very unlikely ally in President Trump..Here is what the leader of the Republican Party says. He says '$2000 ASAP'. So even on this issue, amazingly enough, the President of the United States is right."
Sanders then asked unanimous consent for the Senate on Thursday at 11:30am to take up the House-passed $2,000 direct payments bill and vote on it followed by the NDAA veto override vote. Toomey objected.
Toomey on Senate flr:"We're being told, after passing another extraordinary bill, almost a trillion dollars & includ $600 person, that that's not enough. We need to do $2K per person..We know for a fact large majority of those checks are going to go to people who had no lost income."
Markey then asked UC for Senate on Thursday at 12:30pm to take up House-passed $2,000 payments bill & vote on it followed by NDAA veto override vote.Cornyn objected:"This bill would spend roughly $300B more on folks who aren't even experiencing a financial strain from pandemic."
