Thanks to the vital work by scientists, healthcare workers, global health experts and many others, we have reached an extraordinary moment in the history of vaccinology but also medicine more generally 🔬
At the start of the year, we turned our attention to a novel and fast-spreading mystery virus 🌍
We responded quickly and in collaboration with our partners, announcing our first 3 vaccine programmes on 23 Jan 📅
Our partnership announced this week with @biological_e means that we have now supported the development 1⃣1⃣ #COVID19 vaccines🔬
Our vaccine portfolio has been built on the principles of speed 💨, scale 🧪🧪🧪 , and access 🌍
However, no one is safe until we are all safe. We cannot end a global crisis within national borders.
Part of the @ACTAccelerator, COVAX is the only global solution that seeks to deliver fair, equitable access to vaccines for every country that participates 🌍
COVAX has first right of refusal in 2021 to access potentially more than one billion doses of CEPI-supported #COVID19 vaccine candidates, subject to their clinical trial success and regulatory approval 🔬
A mammoth challenge in terms of global vaccine delivery and continuing vaccine R&D lies ahead of us but we are now acquiring the critical tools needed to end the acute phase of the pandemic 🌍
Thanks for following our journey...here's to 2021 🙏
