I managed to talk to Abrha Kinfe - a father who lost his wife during a delivery to twins in #Maikadra. He told me they used to live in #Metema[Amhara] before they got persecuted & displaced because of their ethnicity in 2016. They resettled in #Maikadra till the war begun. [1/5]

He said that this delivery was the third one for his wife. They got two children from the previous two[15 & 4 yrs old] & twins from the recent one [the third delivery]. However, his wife lost too much blood during the delivery. There was no chance for them to visit ... [2/5]

... a health centre for they had to hide themselves from the Amhara Fano who were hunting after #Tigray|ans in #Maikadra. Then, her blood kept flooding for 8 consecutive days after she delivered twins. Two days into her death, the blood stopped BUT she slept forever. [3/5]

Then Abrha had to flee to Sudan carrying his newly born twins on his hands & helping the other two walk with him. He walked the arduous trek in horror as he was expecting the Amhara Fano would ambush them anywhere & kill them. [4/5]

Thanks God, he arrived at Hamdayet[Sudan] safely but extremely exhausted, horrified, mourned, grieved, drained, and heartbroken. However, he is very strong as I heard from his tone when I talked to him on the phone half an hour before. [5/5]
