I know the night is young, unlike the year.

But it has been a long year... a long couple of months... and even a very long few days for some people who deserve better.

So I will give my friends my New Year's wishes early tonight and you can pop the corks when you will. >

I wish our world and our blessed country and my friends here and everywhere a better year than the one we just experienced,

a year of health, prosperity and liberty under God

of which a necessary component must be justice. >

The year 2020 was the worst year for justice in our country that I can remember.

Every agency charged with ensuring justice failed famously.

Mayors turned their cities open to mobs. Prosecutors refused to prosecute. >

Judges became prosecutors

and appeals courts gave this ugly betrayal of justice their blessing.

But the only true blessing in civic life is ordered liberty, not human caprice in black robes.

For reasons known only to Him, the Creator let injustice run amok in 2020. >

May we return to Him and again merit the blessing due to that nation Lincoln called humanity's last best hope.

Let us be a nation again, if we ever were, that respects the necessity of different views to find the truth.

Let America pursue not power, but justice, in 2021. <>
