Despite anti-China propaganda, there's a worldwide buying spree of "made-in-China" in 2020. Trend will strengthen in 2021. China is going from world's factory to world's super factory
China's exports have gone up 20% in 2020. One of the contributing
2/ factors is the wild increase in PPE and other medical supply orders China received from all over the world. As most factories are closed or unable to meet the heavy demands within a short notice, China as world's factory with huge manufacturing capacity has to step in.
3/ The 2021 key product of China's exports would be Chinese vaccines. Given the advantage of safety, effectiveness, easy transportability and affordability, as of now, 40 countries have expressed the purchase intention and 16 countries have already ordered 500 million vaccine
4/ shots from China.
In 2020, China supplied the world with 200 bn masks, 20 bn personal protection garments and 800 million Covid19 test kits.
Notice that in April 2020, seeing China getting so many orders, out of jealousy and spite, several western countries accused
5/ China of faulty PPE. In response, China offered to halt temporarily the sale in order to investigate into the matter. This move struck panic and made these countries shut up. Nastiness and bad faith always backfire. 😂
In reality, Chinese PPE are sought after as gold
6/ on the market which China sells at reasonable price. Numerous countries sent special envoys of airplanes to fetch their orders.
Is the American visceral hatred of China
warranted?
Let's look at China's contribution to the US Covid19 response:
China supplied US
7/ with 40 bn masks, 800 million surgical gloves, 650 million personal protection garments, 47 million pairs of protection eye goggles. On average, every American received 120 masks from China.
For China's essential consumer goods as well, there's literally a buying
8/ spree in the US. Instead of placing tariffs on Chinese goods, US should subsidize Chinese companies in order to gain priority of delivery. Numerous goods, especially digital products are out of stock!
Due to the Covid19, the US exports have gone down 20%, and those of EU
9/ have gone down 10.5%. The deficit is partially picked up by China especially in the domain of medical supplies wherein before Covid19, China had a trade deficit of 800 million US$. During Covid, China had a trade surplus of 36 bn US$.
So without China, US would have been
10/ deprived of PPE and medical supplies, especially respirators during the pandemic. On top of that, shelves of essential consumer goods in supermarkets would have been empty. Money distributed by the US government would be like waste paper. There would be no goods to buy.
11/ Unsurprisingly, China's trade surplus to the US has grown 20% despite the tariffs and anti-China propaganda.
The world has been fighting over China's respirators as well. It's useless to order luxury expensive respirators even if countries have the money to throw away.
12/ It would take several months to deliver. Not very convenient when people are dying every minute. Time is of essence. China can deliver on time thanks to its unparalleled industrial manufacturing capacity.
The pandemic is de facto WWIII. China is playing the role of war time
13/ manufacturer comparable to the US role during the WWII.
Another hostile country India is in the same situation. In April 2020, India sent 24 planes to fetch its medical supply orders amounting to 400 tons in weight.
India had the ambition to replace China
14/ as the world's factory, but not being able to put Covid19 under control renders such ambition null and void. Hating China doesn't help. China is India's biggest trading partner and the biggest investor (Chinese Investments often disguised themselves as originating from
15/ Singapore and Vietnam). Despite the animosity, India's imports from China grew to 18.3% in 2020 as compared to 13. 7% In 2019.
Vietnam had the ambition to replace China as the world's factory as well, but local supply chains are incomplete. Vietnam still has to buy numerous
16/ materials, equipments and spare parts from China pushing up the cost and rendering the relocation not worthwhile.
So in 2021, China will still remain world's factory. Moreover, it will take over the orders of countries hit hard by the Covid, especially India.
17/ The year of 2021 augurs well for China economically. Its GDP is projected to grow by more than 8%.
China is now pivoting to high quality high tech manufacturing. In the near future, made-in-China will become synonymous with affordable high quality products.
18/ China watching is exciting! There's so much good news. West being jealous and spiteful is useless. Chinese people made the sacrifices at the beginning of the year 2020. Western people won't accept and are incapable of going through a hard lockdown of three months.
19/ Chinese people accepted the excruciating constraint. They are reaping the fruits now. As the cliche goes, no pain no gain.
To give you an idea of China's draconian hard lockdown, from one minute to next after the issuance of lockdown order, nobody was allowed to move.
20/ It was just as if everyone was "frozen" by the lava in ancient Pompeii when the volcano erupted. Look at how UK did its lockdown, ie, hundreds of thousands of people were allowed to flee London...
West call it human rights abuses. Chinese call it "sacrifices".
I have a backup account @TrutherPandemic. I've learnt that if I don't use it for 6 months, Twitter might suspend it. I've decided to turn it into an Italian language account to practice my Italian. Here's the above thread in Italian.
Human species has evolved to the current stage where the West, supposedly the most advanced section of sapiens has deemed the collective human behavior (China's hard lockdown and big data tracking) to adapt to the harsh reality of the environment for survival
2/ as "totalitarian human rights abuses".
Unfortunately virus doesn't know and doesn't cooperate with Western propaganda.
If virus had been more lethal, some part of the sapiens would have been wiped out. Chinese sapiens would have survived thanks to
3/ their "totalitarian human rights abuses".
In the evolutionary history of sapiens or animals, those who are able to adapt to the environment survived. Not the other way round. It's not for the environment to adapt to human needs or rights. It's for humans to adjust
other medical supplies for the world hit hard by Covid.
Successfully developed safe viable affordable easily transportable Covid vaccines and proposed latter as a public health product for the world, especially for poor countries.
2/ Eliminated absolute poverty. Provided long-term sustainable livelihoods to 100 million poorest people.
Sinovac vaccine has gone through the third phase of its clinical trial. The protective rate is 79.34%. Though It looks lower than the 90-95% protective rate announced by Pfizer, Modena and Russian vaccines, one must bear in mind
2/ that China uses the traditional method of virus inactivation which produces a lot less undesirable side effects. And even when side effects do manifest, it's within the known and expected range. There's a lot less uncertainty.
It's to be noted that the protectiveness
3/of traditional flu vaccine is about 60-70%. So a 80% is pretty respectable. Highly concentrated antibodies have been detected in everyone receiving the vaccine. Even if 20% of the people may still catch Covid19, the symptoms will be a lot milder and won't necessitate
Another look at the vaccine situation. Western nations can only take care of their own vaccine needs. Burden of vaccines of the rest of the world lies with China
Comprehensive effectiveness of Chinese vaccine is about 86%. It generates 100%
2/ antibodies but overall effectiveness including duration is about 86%. Effectiveness of Pfizer vaccines is said to be about 95%, but its side effects are alleged to be more serious & numerous.
Chinese vaccines use the classic method employed by flu vaccines, ie, dead viruses.
3/ When a dead virus is injected into the body, it doesn't reproduce but the virus has the form of a live virus so it will induce the body to produce corresponding antibodies. The Pfizer vaccine uses the mRNA method by injecting a fragment of the virus RNA giving the body a
2/maniacally obsessed with China being the biggest threat and has raised the anti-China intelligence budget 20%? He declared that China is experimenting with editing the genes of 2 million PLA soldiers to make them into invincible Super Soldiers. That's a flattering projection
3/of Captain America and Hollywood Super Hero Marvel series.
Chinese government was totally puzzled at this rumor and did some investigation into this projected science fiction.
The finding is jaw-dropping. Turns out to be a slogan in a PLA military barracks saying
It appears that US asked China to reopen the Chengdu consulate, invite US journalists back to China as a gesture to win the good will of the American people and to improve China's image held by the American public, 80% of whom are supposed to
2/hold very negative opinions on China.
So now China must take unilateral actions to improve the Sino-US relationship to please and placate the Americans who don't like China.
Note the subterfuge of the roguish logic behind such request.
It should be the other way around.
3/It was the US who shut down the Houston consulate and expelled Chinese journalists first. To remedy the situation, one would assume the ball lies in the court of the US? Shouldn't US reopen the Houston consulate, invite back the Chinese journalists first before
