The timeline is important here.
Letlow announced covid+ test on Dec 18, 2020.
Was admitted to hospital Dec 19, “out of abundance of caution”
Transferred to a different hospital, into ICU Dec 23.
Died today

This article from Dec 9, 2020 said “Letlow is planning to travel to Washington, D.C. this week with his wife, Julia, to attend the White House Christmas Party.”
