I can tell you this — every foreign diplomat and intel officer posted to the United States is surely writing cables back home tonight about the fragility of America’s democracy and the depravity of her President. 1/8
The sitting President of the United States has again sunk to an unthinkable extreme in his efforts to hold onto power. 2/8
On a call, which is available for all to hear, he lectured, ranted, insulted, and implied threats towards Georgia’s Secretary of State and Georgia attorneys and election officials. 3/8
His desire to hold onto power at all costs is dangerous to our Democratic Republic and a betrayal of the office he holds. 4/8
The very foundation of our nation rests in our free and fair elections, and Georgia — after audits and hand counting — has affirmed and certified their election results. 5/8
And yet, the President of the United States with all the subtle innuendo of a wanna-be gangster tried to compel the Georgia Secretary of State to “find” votes. 6/8
There are no votes to be found; there are in fact millions of votes that were cast in Georgia, but the reality is more Georgians cast those votes for President-elect Biden than for Donald Trump. 7/8
However, President Trump is unwilling to accept his loss, and as he grasps at straws to maintain power, he is willing to traffic in conspiracies, shred the faith Americans have in our elections, pressure and lie to election officials, and deny the will of the American people. 8/8

Placating one man’s ego as he undermines our nation’s commitment to what has set us apart for centuries — free and fair elections that honor the will of the people — is dangerous and a dereliction of your duty.
He lost the election. You know it. He knows it. 2/4
And yet, rather than lead with that truth and demonstrate decency and dignity in the face of his loss, you willingly follow suit in defending his baseless lies and his degradation of our electoral process. 3/4
What is the DPA & why are so many (including governors whose states desperately need supplies, & companies needing guidance & assurances) calling for the President to use it?
2/5 The DPA explained:
“The U.S. government is able to make contracts with industry under the law prioritizing the production of goods in scarce supply. . .
3/5 . . . It [the U.S. government] can also provide loan guarantees or lend money directly to targeted industries, and it can shield them from anti-trust actions resulting from firms cooperating and planning with one another. . .
Per Article I, Section 1, we (the House and Senate) pass the laws. (2/6)
Per Article I, Section 7, if the President approves of our legislation, he signs it.
If not, he sends it back to us (the House or the Senate, depending upon origination), and we either vote in both Houses to override his objections/veto or we go back to work legislating. (3/6)
