1,000 Laid-Off Hospitality Workers Fan Out Across the Atlanta Metro Area Knocking on Doors to #GOTV on Eve Before Election Day
—UNITE HERE Canvassers have already knocked on 1.1 million doors for @ReverendWarnock & @ossoff
WHO: Laid-off hospitality workers canvassing to get out the vote for Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.
WHAT: Canvassing launch before canvassers hit the doors to speak with Atlanta voters.
WHERE: 365 Cleveland Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30354
WHEN: Monday, January 4 at 1:00 pm
WHY: Laid-off hospitality workers have already knocked on well over 1 million doors to get out the vote in the Senate runoff because their lives depend on it. Housekeepers, cooks, servers and bartenders are having face to face conversations and making vote plans with Georgians.
As the COVID-19 pandemic and related shutdown wear on, the Senate runoff on January 5 has major implications for the livelihood of workers and their families both in Georgia and throughout the country.
Workers need a Senate that will work to pass long-term comprehensive legislation that includes job and safety protections, economic relief, and health care.

Hitting an astounding 1.5 million doors—laid-off hospitality workers joined the Georgia team that turned Georgia blue to help deliver come-from-behind wins in Georgia Senate races.
Today hospitality workers with UNITE HERE join Democrats in Georgia and nationwide to celebrate a definitive win for @ReverendWarnock and a promising lead for @ossoff in the Georgia Senate run-off races.
As voters across GA head to the polls, hospitality workers are pointing to convos on the doors directly with voters as the reason Dems @ReverendWarnock & @ossoff could be elected to the Senate, despite enormous obstacles to voting that have historically favored GOP candidates.
A relic of Jim Crow-era policies aimed at diluting the influence of Black voters, Georgia’s runoff elections historically favor Republican candidates. For Democrats to have a chance at victory, voter turnout among Black voters and other voters of color is critical. #gasen#gapol
