Our community is horribly divided due to the alarming amount of misinformation. This has to be incredibly challenging for educators.

Regardless, misinformation needs to be addressed. If we can’t agree that a problem exists, we aren’t all invested in solving it.

For instance @DrJeffBearden, you have advocated for masks since August. Would you be willing to explain to the parents of our district why you feel this way? This is a comment from a FCS parent. It's just one of many.

I know that being accused of making politically-based decisions has been frustrating for you, @DrJeffBearden, but it’s impossible to deny that the majority of parents/students/staff who refuse to wear masks have been politically influenced.

We are, unfortunately, living through one of the most politically divisive times of our lives. The anger, resentment and vitriol are inevitably transferring from us to our children.

Our kids deserve better. We need to emphasize the importance of civic responsibility and mutual respect.
