Max was 11 years old and Ash was 8. Their stories were told in the 2016 documentary on the Tavistock GIDS clinic “Kids on the Edge: the Gender Clinic”. The clinic’s management was delighted with the documentary. Its director, Dr Polly Carmichael, said enthusiastically:/1of12
”We all feel proud to have been involved in the process and that we could not have wished for more in the way that they approached and conducted the whole process.”/2of12
Peter Beard, for the Guardian, enthused in his review: “I hope the people who rage about such things might also find the time to watch The Gender Clinic, which does a steady job of dismantling many of the panicked, inaccurate fears around what is clearly a complex process.”/3of12
Few who see this documentary today will reach that conclusion. The #KeiraBell ruling lays bare the lack of evidence on which the clinic’s treatment protocol was based. The minutes of @TaviAndPort board meetings reveal an awareness that the treatment has no evidence base./4of12
At one point in the documentary we are told: “Around half of all children seen by the Gender Identity Development Service show autistic traits – a link no one can explain.” In 2020, when asked by the High Court for today’s autism figures, the clinic was unable to reply./5of12
Matt rarely speaks - prefers to write. Matt wants to be called “he” at school, not at home. Is bullying a factor? A 2018 study found homophobic name calling [early in] middle school ...[was] a form of peer influence that predicted change in early adolescent gender identity./6of12
Pressure is exerted on both child and mother. A clinician says: “often we are putting responsibility back on the family because we don’t have the evidence base to say it’s these kids and not these kids,or how we can pick out which kids should go forward & which shouldn’t’.”/7of12
Ash, just 8 years old, is a “feminine” little boy. Evidence shows such boys generally grow up gay, but this possibility was not discussed at the clinic. Ash wants to be a girl for ever. Ash is a young child. With a child’s understanding and a child’s imagination./8of12
In 2016, @TransgenderTrd asked “how can a child begin to understand the complexity of this issue, the life-long effects of treatment which even the adults don’t know, and the reality of life as a transsexual adult?”/9of12
On 1 December 2020, having made a detailed study of the evidence, three senior High Court judges answered that question. A child cannot understand these complexities and therefore cannot give informed consent./10of12
Those who continue to advocate puberty blockers in spite of this very strong ruling are not protecting children but pushing a form of treatment with no evidence base that leads to profound and in many cases lifelong physical and psychological changes./11of12
They puff themselves up as the “good guys”. They may deceive themselves. They may yet deceive some distressed children and their parents. But as more light is shone on these practices, more people are refusing to be deceived./12of12

If this hearing on 12th Jan is successful, we will see the first judicial review of whether it is appropriate for a govt dept or other public body to be a member of @stonewalluk Diversity Champions scheme. Why is this important?
Because if it goes ahead the court will look at @cpsuk who are charged with “institutional bias” from their membership of the controversial scheme. Membership involves completing an annual questionnaire to receive a rating.@stonewalluk advises members on how to achieve top marks
There are 100s of public sector bodies who belong: @HouseofCommons @UKHouseofLords @WelshGovernment @scotgov, universities, armed forces, police, NHS & regulatory bodies. All receive higher marks if they agree to @stonewalluk gender identity theory which has no grounding in law

"This fearless book [by @abigailshrier] shows how girls’ bodies have become collateral damage in adult culture wars," says @VictoriaPeckham. In 2021 we must explore what drives gender identity theorists to put their ideology above the health & welfare /1

of children & young people. Gender identity ideologues promote a “progressive” new world where "trans children" skip an essential stage of every human being's physical, psychological & sexual development - puberty. /2
Then these “trans children” move on from puberty blockers to cross sex hormones whose effects are immediate and visible. 98% do @TaviAndPort. More experimentation and no measurable improvement to mental health. /3 transgendertrend.com/tavistock-expe…

Amid all the disorientation of 2020, it has in many ways been a good year for #LGBAlliance. We have seen steady progress, and made some fantastic leaps forward, in our campaign to protect LGB rights./1
In January we had our kick-off event at Oran Mor in Glasgow. We campaigned to support the long-standing women’s groups in Scotland to Press Pause on the Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill. The Bill was subsequently tossed into the long grass./2 Image
In February Kate Harris outlined what we call “Stonewall Law” at the Make More Noise event in Manchester. She explained how the law was being misrepresented. The phrase “Stonewall Law” was gradually taken up by other campaigners./3

We are living through a period of such breathtaking, callous disregard for the lives of girls that the jeers and slurs sometimes seem all-encompassing. /1of17

Thankfully, however, those whose minds are not dulled by dogma, tribalism or misogyny are starting to realize the full scale of the crime that is being committed. All in the name of “progressive” politics./2of17
To a considerable extent, this growing realization is thanks to the work of the intrepid journalist Janice Turner, @VictoriaPeckham. Here are a few striking passages from her stunning review of a book that everyone who cares about girls - or about false gods - must read./3of17

Well it's funny but not funny really is it @sally_hines? To any adult who does not question why there has been a 4400% rise in UK girls wishing to become boys via puberty blockers, CSH & surgery over the last decade, we ask you to pause, do some research and think.
On a scale of 1 to 10 how funny is it for children to start a lifetime of medication? How funny is it that other comorbidities such as autism, anxiety, depression are not thoroughly explored? How funny is it that girls as young as 12 in US & 18 in UK have healthy breasts removed?
How much does it make you laugh to imagine a child agreeing with her clinician that she never ever wants to have children? And how funny is it that she knows now, as a child, that she is the opposite sex, because peer pressure & social media tell her so?
