"We will never give up, we will never concede," says President Trump at the rally to overturn the results.
"I hope Mike is gonna do the right thing, I hope so. Because if Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election," says Trump, even though this is false.
"All Vice President Pence has to do is send it back to the states to recertify...and we become president, and you are the happiest people," says Trump, spreading disinformation and deluding his followers.
"They want Rudy Giuliani back in New York," says the president.

Maybe he's referring to the Southern District of New York?
"And Mike Pence is gonna have to come through for us. And if he doesn't, that will be a sad day for our country, because you're sworn to uphold our Constitution," says the president, revving the bus under which he has thrown his vice president.
"If they do the wrong thing we should never ever forget what they did," says Trump of the GOP senators.

"And by the way, it's much more important today than it was 24 hours ago."
"Kelly Loeffler, David Perdue, they fought a good race, they never had a shot," says the president, apparently acknowledging that Republicans lost Georgia last night.
"You have one of the worst governors in the United States," Trump says about Brian Kemp.

"I had to beat Stacey Abrams with this guy, I had to beat Oprah, used to be a friend of mine. I was on her last show...I had to campaign against Michelle Obama and Barack Hussein Obama..."
"Twitter's bad news," says Trump. A rare point of bipartisan agreement.
"The Liz Cheneys of the world, we've got to get rid of them. You know, she never wants to bring a single soldier home," says Trump, calling out the highest-ranking woman in GOP congressional leadership.
"Mike Pence, I hope you're going to stand up for the good of our Constitution and the good of your country. And if you're not, I'm going to be very disappointed in you. I'm not hearing good stories," says Trump, again setting up his loyal VP to be the fall guy for Trump's loss.
"Maya-copa County"
"I hope Mike has the courage to do what he has to do," says Trump, apparently unaware that Pence has broken his silence to say that he will not attempt to reject any electors unilaterally.

PELOSI SAYS IF PENCE DOES NOT INVOKE 25A, CONGRESS MAY IMPEACH AGAIN
“I join the Senate Democratic leader in calling on the Vice President to remove this president by immediately invoking the 25th Amendment,” says Speaker Pelosi, “If the Vice President and the cabinet do not act, the Congress may be prepared to move forward with impeachment.”
"Do you expect an answer today" from Pence on whether he will invoke the 25th Amendment, asks a reporter.

"We would hope," says Pelosi.

"Many times, my state has been the problem," starts off South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham. Image
"If you're looking for historical guidance," says Graham, referring to Hawley and Cruz's invocation of the 1876 electoral commission that decided the Tilden-Hayes fiasco, "this is not the one to pick." Laughter in the chamber.
"All I can say is count me out," says Graham, before listing off all of Trump's losses in court over the election.

In Georgia, "they say there's 60,000 people under the age of 18 voted. How many people believe that?" asks Graham, as Sen. Loeffler looks on in the background.

With former Rep. Cleo Fields taking himself out of contention for LA-02, it's likely that Cedric Richmond will be succeeded by another New Orleans-area politician. Fields was viewed as the only Baton Rouge-area pol with enough clout to seriously compete.

LA-02 is heavily gerrymandered to be a vote sink for Black Louisianans. It stretches all the way from New Orleans through the River Parishes to parts of Baton Rouge.

But 78% of the population lives in the New Orleans metro, compared to just 21% in Baton Rouge, per @DKElections.

My first-ever article for IE was on Georgia's Senate races, so it's very full-circle that we closing out the cycle here.

All in all, I've written 19,518 words(!) on Georgia's Senate races, more than any other state.

March 6, my first stab at the special:

June 19, my deep dive on the regular election featuring Sen. David Perdue and Democrat Jon Ossoff, where I previewed how Ossoff's campaign would be different, and stronger, than his failed 2017 bid for Congress.

In November, when it became clear that both races, including the Perdue contest, were headed to runoffs, I took a look back at the history of runoffs in Georgia, and why Democrats thought this time could be different.

"There's no way we lost Georgia," says the president, getting off to a good start.
"I've had two elections. I won both of them, it's amazing. I actually did better in the second one," he continues.
As Trump mentions Kelly Loeffler, a "fight for Trump" chant overtakes the crowd and the president pauses to let it wash over him.

"We need to send Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue because a Republican senate *could be* the last line of defense" says Mike Pence in Georgia, alluding to the possibility that just maybe Joe Biden might be potentially the next president.
And now a "four more years" chant has broken out.
Pence brings up Dianne Feinstein's "dogma" comments from 2017 as evidence that Democrats are religiously intolerant. "That dogma lives loudly in me," he says.

Comes as Republicans have made Raphael Warnock's preaching the #1 issue in the Senate runoffs.
