On stream with @AmericanKrogan playing Fallout: New Vegas I compared Trump to Caesar (the real one.) I think there are some parallels between the final decades of the roman republic and the American republic.

Keep in mind, one facet of that period of Rome are political purges. ImageImage
I don't think if Trump were to maintain control, he would likely be big on that, he hasn't talked about that sort of thing really. The other side has.

If Biden takes control, I think there's a good chance for some amount of political purging to take place. Image

Frequently when arguing with a civ-nat type, as I present the reality that Aristotle and the founding fathers understood, they retort with the idea that we shouldn't hold to the ideals of hundreds of years ago.
For some reason they fail to understand that we continued to have these ideals until just recently. For some of these older folks, it really got subverted in their own lifetime from the 1965 hart-cellar act. Although there were prior subversion of our founding ideals before that.
The kind of society that they remember fondly is the type of society that was largely in agreement with these ideals.

Here's Bill Maher fondly remembering a more functional time, while also mentioning it was bad that white people lived together.

Imagine if your average American voter had a understanding of how intelligent and thoughtful the founding fathers were
Imagine they understood what the founders said about race, social cohesion, and why they created a country for 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫
The conservative talking heads on tv or on the radio will talk about "white men of good character" but drop the point about white men. Dennis Prager will harp on about how this country needs a moral public to sustain itself, but will pretend like they didn't even say white men.
The leftist talking heads on tv or on the radio will drop the point about "good character" and will focus on 'white men.' Not because they actually understand why the founding fathers wanted a cohesive and homogeneous nation, it's just as a talking point for anti-american hatred.
