Hospitals in the Capital are overwhelmed.

This isn’t an exaggeration.

Here’s why:

Successive Conservative governments have intentionally underfunded the NHS.

It’s all on record. 1/13
Successive Conservative governments have cut the number of hospital beds, despite a growing and ageing population.

This results in the number of patients exceeding the number of available beds.

You don’t need to have a PhD to work this out. 2/13
Successive Conservative governments failed to recruit anywhere near the number of nurses & doctors needed

They scrapped the nurses bursaries, yes, they charge you if you want to give 40+ years nursing others.

Do I need to explain the consequences of understaffing? 3/13
Successive Conservative governments have dished out obscene amounts of contracts to private companies - often linked to the Tory Party.

Virgin Care sued your NHS. What did you think of Serco’s test and trace system?

Profits before patients. Simple as that. 4/13
Successive Conservative governments have failed to pay nurses a decent wage.

Nurses are using Foodbanks to get by. Are you comfortable with this?

Do you remember the Tories CHEERING when they won a vote that denied nurses of a pay rise?

Check out #NHSPay15
5/13
Successive Conservative governments have demoralised NHS workers.

During the first wave of this pandemic they had the nerve to accuse nurses of misusing PPE.

Reality: nurses wore modified bin liners & face masks from eBay.

Hundreds have tragically died of Covid-19. 6/13
Successive Conservative governments have massively cut funding to social care.

This has ended up with patients having to stay in their hospital beds, leading to ‘bed-blocking’.

This is down to the government. Not the NHS, and not the patients. 7/13
In short, that’s why your NHS is overwhelmed, and no Covid denier (yes, they still exist) will be telling me otherwise.

Not enough beds = x
Not enough staff = y
Huge surge of patients = z

x + y + z = overwhelmed.

This is the reality. 8/13
It’s not hard to wander into a hospital and record a short video of empty areas. You creepy bastards.

Do these anti-everything-sensible people really think that is an accurate representation of reality?

It’s not. Talk to any medical professional on the front line. 9/13
There is a few things we can do to help.

•Listen to qualified health experts, not celebrity clickbait. This really matters.

•Value your NHS. It’s yours - it doesn’t belong to any politician or party.

•Stay at home. If you’re not mixing, you’re not spreading.

10/13
I have had private conversations with nurses working without any breaks, having to cancel leave, working every day. We do not have enough nurses.

Cameron, Hunt, May, Hancock & Johnson all promised more nurses.

They’ve all lied to you - assisted by much of the media. 11/13
I would suggest following NHS activists such as @NHSActivistRN @Momentum_NHS @NHSMillion to name but a few.

We have to stand together and demand the best for our NHS and all those that sail her.

And let me reiterate one last point please... 12/13
Claps are nice, but they don’t pay the bills, or put food on the table.

NHS parking charges must be scrapped.

Give the staff a real pay rise.

Take the enthusiasm from your clapping & turn it into protest, activism, & fight for *our* national treasure.

End. 13/13

However you look at it, today has been an utter shambles from the Labour leadership.

Regardless of your thoughts about Jeremy Corbyn, you know he would’ve stood by teachers, parents, pupils and unions immediately m, and without waiting for a leaked Downing St briefing. 1/13
Starmer has been caught out today. His video interview with a very persistent Sam Coates was truly lamentable.

This wasn’t a car crash, it was a 20 vehicle pile-up I’m afraid.

I have retweeted a couple of the many disillusioned Starmer voters - they’ve seen the light. 2/13
And how long before the public realise?

Let’s be honest. Labour’s polling is an anti-Johnson vote, it’s not a pro-Starmer vote. It’s not an endorsement of Starmer because he hasn’t offered anything to endorse. Nothing. He is policy free. 3/13

Our inability to introduce remote learning during a global pandemic is a social problem.

A decade of austerity has left families without the means to own adequate devices, and some can’t even afford broadband.

Scoff all you like, but it is reality I’m afraid. 1/10
It wasn’t long ago @GavinWilliamson was promising help for poorer families, so their children could access the necessary equipment to learn from home and no child is left behind.

How did that go? Do I even need to ask?

Another huge failure from the fireplace flogger. 2/10
“Whatever it takes”, they said.

I’ll stick my neck out here and call that bullshit. Utter hogwash.

“Whatever it takes to ensure our friends get HUUUUGE PPE contracts” - that would be accurate. 3/10

Starmer is panicking.

I have thought about the latest attempt to publicly humiliate Me Corbyn, and some absolutely vital questions need answering by Nick Brown and Keir Starmer.

Why now? Why not last week?

Why have they come up with this ludicrous response now? 1/7
Why is this being done in public and not via the normal channels? This is completely extraordinary.

If it’s about “transparency”, release the WhatsApps messages between a key Starmer aide and Corbyn’s representatives prior to last weeks NEC panel. Nothing to hide? 2/7
Why has Starmer suddenly decided to stand aside and let the Chief Whip manage it all when he was opposed to the whip being withheld?

What are you hiding, Sir Keir? I think I know. 3/7

Not many people know... But without @TheMendozaWoman and @TheCanaryUK there probably wouldn’t be a Rachael Swindon.

And without @MrTopple there definitely wouldn’t be.

Genuinely.

So when you’ve finished blaming them for me, please be sure you’re following them. 1/4
I remember one time, the filthy S*n arranged for a reporter to doorstep me. It was upsetting, and I had to disinfect the door. Twice, just to be sure.

But what did Kerry-Anne do? She went and doorstepped them. See how they liked it. ❤️ 2/4
And Mr Topple, he gave me so much advice, and belief. He told me to put myself out there a bit more, engage and debate. When awful people with high profiles went after me, he stood up for me.

Seriously, he was an absolute rock. A true friend. 3/4

This awful government haven’t learned a single lesson during this pandemic.

We still aren’t mass testing NHS workers and we still aren’t mass testing care workers.

Hundreds of beautiful souls have already been lost, caring for us. 1/9
Whitty admitted they haven’t got a control of the virus. Until we have a vaccine, if ever, we can only rely on a successful testing and tracing system.

Instead, we have proven failures such as Serco, Deloitte, and Baroness Dido Harding, coasting you an arm and a leg. 2/9
Without mass testing, and the capacity to process mass testing, we will not get a grip of Covid-19.

Look at Germany. You can get a quick test while you wait for a train. Hancock can’t even organise routine testing for frontline healthcare workers. 3/9

A thread:
So, it works out, the woman harassing me online, for being hard-up, before putting out her own appeal for more than £5,000, has locked her account.

And this will be why...

It transpires her GoFundMe page was set up in February 2020. This has been planned. 1/12 Image
Notice to leave her house was given in August. Apparently the landlady was selling up.

But then we need to skip forward a month to now... 2/12 ImageImage
Does this appeal mention eviction, or do you get the impression they need to pay arrears to move to more suitable accommodation?

Again, this appeal was set up when she started attacking me, @wrenasaurus & others, who were routinely shamed by her because we asked for help. 3/12 Image
