I highly recommend Putin's People @CatherineBelton

Russia is only part of the Trump story, but this history of Putin is filled with lessons, including how Westerners underestimated how political, KGB, mafia & business interests would merge under Putin as democratic rights eroded
I started Putin's People in June, got sidetracked, and finished it this week (taking copious notes)

While I was familiar with many of the names and events, it was like doing a puzzle and watching various pieces suddenly fit into the bigger picture

A new name in the book surprised me because of his role in Trump's orbit - Shalva Tchigirinsky aka Chigirinsky met Trump at the Taj Mahal in 1990, reportedly had Solnetsevskaya ties, mentored Aras Agalarov, knew Steve Wynn and was involved in one of the Trump Moscow discussions

Great reporting by @CJBarker on Erik Prince lawsuit against The Intercept, which found Prince's sworn statement about his ties to WY included misstatements about his WY voting record and businesses HT @seth_hettena
This Declaration by Erik Prince stated he owns several operating business entities registered in WY including Jones Creek and CMNS Systems

@CJBarker reported there is a CMNS Systems registered in DE Aug 2020

From 2018 American Made Media Consultants was set up with Brad Parscale to manage Trump campaign media buys

The new reporting above indicates hundreds of millions may have ben directed to family members and other unknown recipients

American Made Media Consultants has invested in and co-owner of campaign app Phunware
