@tommy_pane@kenobrea@Laces20288055@bigrigsusa@tedlieu@GOP 2/ For years I have been noticing this propensity towards violence implicit in the Trump/ism.
What happened Jan6 was just the first major breaking out of this underlying principle.
Whether you accept the assessment, the fact is violence was unleashed.
When (if) the full story of Jan6 ever comes out I predict it will have multiple levels of intention and complicity.
Broadly
1/The "base" level of the mob reacting out of what they believe & has been taught & insinuated into them for years.
I think this chaos is the cover for
other levels that seem to have a much more clear, "calm" mission.
These are the people who are now utterly confused that what they were told turns out to not be true.
These people being disbarred from flying, or taken into custody, thinking they were just returning home, are
bearing the brunt of the response by the law enforcement system. They are the easiest to see, find, and catch.
They are the pawns. They are the Orcs in the Trumpian system...expendable. Useful. Necessary. But Expendable as the strategy & tactics require.
Interesting how the shift in the 'pubs message is now "hey, lets get unified". And do that by trying, yet again, to elude consequences...and investigation, into what happened.
We have tried that path multiple times already.
It does not work.
Here is how it works...The way you and your team always put up a concrete wall when it comes to the relatively petty crimes some people do. They need to learn the lesson by suffering the consequences of their choices.
Consequences you absolve those who actually do deep and structural damage to the country from. At least until it cannot be ignored any longer, and you need a "sacrificial lamb".
Looking forward to seeing which 'lambs' will be offered up for this monumental moment.
@tommy_pane@CrisesMimetic@cdsmith80@DominicNeiman@MarlaYouTourist@mtaibbi It is foolish to engage you any more.. We are not in agreement at the foundational levels. Not about liberty.
But the fact, now fully exposed, that you are willing, happy even, to engage violence to gain your "liberty".
You, along w Trump, the leader, and the tribe the
@tommy_pane@CrisesMimetic@cdsmith80@DominicNeiman@MarlaYouTourist@mtaibbi 2/ doers, you are willing to breach the fundamental principle of 'The rule of law', and 'No one is above the law'.
You will cite revolutions of the past, maybe even the American Rev.
And I will laugh that you would equate what is happening now with then.
@tommy_pane@CrisesMimetic@cdsmith80@DominicNeiman@MarlaYouTourist@mtaibbi 3/ The model before us now, and what has always been the underlying issue w Trump, and Trumpism, is not the Am Rev which brought us the ability to even think about such things as Free Speech et al.
But 1930's Germany, and the #Brownshirts and the devotion to the goal of getting
@SamHarrisOrg An entry into the debate of 'free will' and how people develop.
I wonder sometimes if what you see as unconditional outcomes is due in some large part to the underlying conditioning that conscribes one's self.
This image struck me along those lines.
I gather you see this as just another effect in the universal cosmic Cause... An inevitable happening that must be seen as an effect, rather than a 'cause' of its own?
Is every analysis of the context and conditioning of people subject to the trump card of 'yep, that is how it must be given the massive totality of all the forces leading to this moment'.
@TimothyDSnyder Needs to be on every major media explaining what has happened, how it has been being set up for years, the patterns of Authoritarian take over..
And the fact that we are not yet done with this.
It is still hot. Trump remains a force - another pattern.
Looking back, not even 100 years ago, to the last major authoritarian assault. There are patterns. We are in the middle of our version, so we do not have a clear idea if we are at the beginning, the Putsch, or the end, the Bunker.
There are pieces of both.
It depends, largely
on whether we are capable of hearing the clear statements and assessments of our historians like Snyder and Heather Cox. And the journalists, writers, like @anneapplebaum who see things from a larger contextual perspective.
