Thread: With Brexit changes I wanted to ensure that UK & Ireland collectors can still get access to my Affordable Art Project. Now, more than ever, we need hope, love, empathy & joy so I have a plan to share the mellow! See below!
My understanding is that there’s some sort of magical £135 (about €149) cut off to make things easier & have Etsy process any taxes. So I’m going to do a deal for UK/Ireland only where you can get two drawings for just €99 (about £89).
Shipping is just €15 to cover P&P & the import export forms. Hopefully this will ensure that British collectors will still have access to my low cost Affordable Art Project.
These works are normally just €149 ($181/£134) each. And because i think we need mellow more than ever when you buy an artwork, you can choose a second free!

Thread: Here’s a neutral overview of todays Mother & Baby Homes Commission of Investigation (2020). It’s an exam of the exec summary only. I have sought to highlight historical inaccuracies relating to social history & shocking infant mortality levels. #motherandbabyhomes
The exec summary notes that the harsh environment of Ireland was ‘supported by, contributed to & condoned by’ the State & RCC. This is to elide that the State was a de facto theocracy & the Church the arbiter of social behaviour & the creator of the ‘harsh environment’
Some 81,000 women were immured in ‘homes’ with at least 57,000 children. This is reported as the highest per capita intake of unmarried mothers in the world. Individuals from as young as 12 were detained & some 11%+ were underage.
Thread: Thinking of the survivors & families of clerical abuse. That abuse was facilitated by the state. Ireland was a de facto theocracy. The Roman Catholic hierarchy set themselves up as moral guardians & must now* & then be held accountable for their evil #MotherandBabyHomes
Any attempt by the hierarchy or its immoral propagandists to blame the state is denying the control of the Church over politicians, the media & the people. The media has a responsibility to grow a spine & challenge this revision of history & apologise for their own role.
*It’s clear immorality is still a significant part of hierarchical behaviour. This includes that they allow a pseudo-institute represent their mendaciousness 24/7 & their ongoing & non-Christian homophobia.
Thread: Domenico Ghirlandaio (1448-1494) died on this day. He was one of the greatest Renaissance artists who was a master of fresco painting & integrated Flemish art into Italian. His work deserves greater recognition & he is one of my favourite painters
Born in Florence, he was the son of a silk dealer & goldsmith. His surname, Ghirlandaio translates as garland & refers to his father’s craft. He was apprenticed to Baldovinetti & Verrocchio & was a longtime friend of his fellow students Botticelli & Perugino. Frescoes (1471)
Ghirlandaio was recognised for his frescos (as much of his work is in situ his fame outside of Italy has suffered for its lack of portability). An early commission was in the 1477-8 - the Chapel of S Fina in San Gimignano (featured in the film Tea with Mussolini)
Rupert Murdoch should be ashamed of himself. His TV station is now engaged in Holocaust denial. Parler is a far right anti-Semitic neo Nazi hang out. Kristallnacht was where the far right destroyed Synagogues, livelihoods & lives of Jewish people. #NeverForget
Oh & Holocaust denial takes many forms from outright denial of the time, to arguments over murder numbers to ‘normalising’ the scale of the worst crime in history. These tulips are involved in the latter & worst are defending Neo Nazis.
