Everything is peaking: Test positives, hospitalizations, deaths...
...and we haven't really even seen the holiday peak yet.
The hospitalization curve tells the story.
We have had a MASSIVE increase in the past few weeks, and it might be slowing down, but I am not at all sure we have peaked.
Regionally, the Midwest actually is improving.
The Northeast actually doesn't look horrific, but may have another wave.
The South and West....are incredibly bad.
Population adjusted case numbers tell a similar story. Midwest improving, West and South worse...but also implies we are going to see another wave in the Northeast.
Here is hospitalizations adjusted by population. Again, South, West are the worst...but Northeast is mixed.
Here is New York. Definitely not as bad as the Spring. But plenty bad.
NY in the Spring was the worst in the world all year; right now, they are at HALF the hospitalizations of their peak, and about 1/5 of the deaths, with numbers worsening.
New Jersey tells a similar story. Hopefully they are leveling off...I am worried that its not going to be sustained.
Florida is worsening as well. They never hit the peaks NY/NJ did, but now are approaching about 2/3 of the summer peak.
Largely true in much of the rest of the south.
California may be the worst story. All through they have either been lucky or good.
Well, their luck ran out. LA County, especially, is getting crushed.
They are seen before unforeseen peaks, and it appears to only be getting worse.
Finally, here is the death per capita; the gray line is the US median.
States like NM and IA, which almost nobody talks about, is now among the worst. On the other hand, you don't see FL, GA, CA...the media still doing a very poor job.

Relatively speaking, worst countries? France, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Turkey. China and Russia too (considering they've had 'vaccines' for months). Canada is lagging too (reason why?).
As for US states, WV leads the pack, followed (not in order) ND, SD, MT, CO, NM, UT, OK, LA, IN, VT, CT, RI.
As for the big states, FL will likely pass NY in per capita vaccinations by tomorrow or so, and has vaccinated 80k more, marginally trailing TX and CA.
