A quick story about what a TV sitcom nerd I was in the 70s. It especially helps if you were a fan of Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, and especially, Blansky’s Beauties.
My buddy raises an even more troubling point. Nancy visited Howard in the late 50s. She’s the same age in Blanksy’s Beauties, which is set in... 1977. Additionally, how are Joey and Carmine able to talk in the phone each episode if they live 2 decades apart? It’s like Frequency!
I’m told Arnold also appears in ‘77. Time travel wasn’t unheard of in Happy Days universe. Mork landed in the 50s but settled in late 70s Colorado. But he was an alien who time traveled. Nancy Blansky ran a burlesque show. Not sure if that endows her w/ time travel powers as well
I wonder how long I need to make this thread to get Blansky’s Beauties trending in 2021?
I recall being outraged during the Jump the Shark ep. Not that Fonz waterskiied in a leather jacket. But that Chachi was wearing a 1977 Quicksilver bathing suit. The sartorial anachronism!!
What I don’t get? I figure out the Richie/ Carmine connection. But never even noticed Blansky’s takes place 20 years later.
37 hours to go. Lots of folks (me) on edge. So this thread will be dedicated to #Beatlesque songs— not necessarily carbon copies, but any tunes that evoke a fab feeling till Orange Hitler leaves office. 1st up, Cheap Trick- Voices.
Dumbstruck to learn about the sudden loss of my friend @DWRRichardson. He wasn’t a household name, but he was a legend and legendary mentor to so many writers in the sitcom world. A devastating loss.
David was a big success. But more than anyone I knew, he remained a regular guy who never bought into any Hollywood bullshit. In fact, when we met for lunch it had to be at Barone's Pizza, because he liked to meet north of Oxnard. Where no one in show biz ever ate. RIP fellow Val
He was also the only dear friend I ever had to block on Twitter! Because he was always making fun of my posts. He definitely kept me from taking myself too seriously. Or at least he tried. He loved the Allman Brothers. Listening to Gregg's version of These Days now in his honor.
I’m not sure if this makes me an influencer since I’m not asking you to wear my style of bathing suit, but the Biden campaign asked me to come up with some ads on immigration to appear in. This is what they chose. 14 more days! #BidenHarris2020
We are a nation built by immigrants. Not a nation that scapegoats them. #BidenHarris2020
People come to America seeking hope and freedom. Not to be placed in cages. #BidenHarris2020
