Bali’s immigration office is looking for Kristen Grey, the American woman in Bali at the center of the Twitter row about her immigration and tax status. The office said there’s no such name registered among arrivals but her social media name might be different to her actual name.
The immigration office have located Kristen Gray’s residence and plan to invite her to have a chat about her tweets. The office said she entered Bali in January 2020 and extended her visa until this year. She currently holds a valid visa to stay in the country.
The immigration has decided to deport Kristen Gray for violation of her immigration status, encouraging foreigners to move to Bali amid the pandemic and selling an e-book on how to do so. She's now being detained at the immigration office in Denpasar awaiting available flight.
The press release from the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights stated that Ms Gray violated the 2011 Immigration Laws article 75 for endangering public safety by inviting people to Bali during a pandemic, and article 122 for violating the purpose of her visa.
The Ministry made no mention of her partner Saundra whose last name is publicly unknown. At this stage only Ms Gray is being detained at the immigration office.
While only Ms Gray is named in the Ministry’s media release, her partner Saundra will be accompanying her on the next available flight back to the US and Ms Gray will not be allowed back to Indonesia for six months. Their visa extension was due to expire this Sunday.

THREAD:
This PSBB is effective starting today until Apr 23 but can be extended. Under the law on health quarantine people who violate the PSBB order can face up to one year jail and/or a fine of up to Rp 100 million.
