THREAD: @maddow is asking tonight why the My Pillow guy and other trump allies like acting defense Secretary Chris Miller are making an eleventh-hour push to install trump sycophants in the NSA and CIA. There has to be a reason, and I have a guess. 1/
First, we know that after trump met with Chris Miller last Friday, Miller made a push to force Michael Ellis (former Nunes counsel and the guy who hid the Zelensky call in the code-word classified system) in as NSA general counsel. 2/ cnn.com/2021/01/16/pol…
We also know the My Pillow guy told Trump to install Kash Patel (former Nunes aide) as acting CIA Director, but what Maddow didn’t mention was that Haspel nearly resigned last December when trump tried to install Patel as the deputy director back then. 3/ thehill.com/homenews/admin…
And Pelosi isn’t taking this lightly. She’s sent a letter demanding answers. And we learned today that Biden’s COS Ron Klain has considered stopping intelligence briefings for Trump after he leaves office. 4/ cnn.com/2021/01/17/pol…
But this is the glaring part: former deputy director of National Intel Sue Gordon penned a op ed saying we should cut off access to intelligence to trump because he “might be unusually vulnerable to bad actors with ill intent.” 5/ washingtonpost.com/opinions/sue-g…
Why he is vulnerable? He’s a billion dollars in debt. Much of which is coming due in the next few years. His friend at Deutsche, Rosemary Vrablic resigned after they started looking into his loans. No bank will touch him. He’s broke & desperate. 6/
If they cut off his intelligence briefings, how will he get access to our national security secrets to sell? Perhaps by burrowing allies into intelligence agencies? I’m just guessing, but it seems pretty obvious to me, and I’ve been saying it for a while. END/
PS- I should be clear that I don’t think this is the ONLY reason he’s burrowing allies in our intelligence agencies; just an obvious one. Biden will be able to remove them and I think he will. 🙏❤️

THREAD: Okay. I'm about to get SUPER space beans tin foil hat on you, so stop reading if you're not into that. Based on what we're learning from public reporting, the pentagon curtailed the response to the trump coup. 1/ washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
We also know from video and public reporting that there were two groups that stormed the capitol. 1) weird-ass bystanders and 2) possibly armed ex-military members with tactical gear and flex cuffs 2/
We also know there was a failed coup attempt in Venezuela orchestrated by Giuliani and former members of Blackwater, an Erik Prince joint. 3/ rollingstone.com/culture/cultur…
Okay. I’m about to go WAY out on a limb into super space beans territory. Remember the failed coup in Venezuela orchestrated by Giuliani with former Erik Prince goons? What if “group 2” with the tactical gear and flex cuffs were former Blackwater? Yes, I sound crazy.
It explains the Giuliani involvement and the trump pardons of the Blackwater war criminals. Not to mention the medal of freedom to Nunes and how his aide ended up in a top pentagon position. Oh, and Erik Prince’s sister resigning. BUT IM CRAZY, YEAH?
THREAD: While Mitch McConnell and Steve Mnuchin whine about having to send us $600 in a half-assed effort to help those struggling with food and rent, this administration is about to garnish the wages of millions of Americans, including service members starting next month. 1/
As we all know, this year trump signed an executive order saying employers could have a "payroll tax holiday" (sounds SO LOVELY!!) What this did was allow businesses to stop deducting and paying into Social Security. 2/
Many employers didn't opt in, but trump FORCED military and government employees to stop paying into social security. Republicans beat their drums about this saying they were the BEST EVER and called it a PAY RAISE. 3/ forbes.com/sites/shaharzi…
@page88 I have an incredible story about my father possibly working for the CIA in the late 60s that I recently learned about.
@page88 When the Atlantic story dropped about trump calling war dead and veterans suckers and losers, I penned a tweet about my dad, who had died at 46 due to exposure to agent Orange in Vietnam. It went viral and was featured in WaPo, and many reached out wanting to know more.
@page88 I didn’t have any additional info about his agent Orange exposure, so I called my mom. She told me an INCREDIBLE story. She told me about his job as a cryptologist in the Air Force working miles below ground. In 1967, he was moved from Hickam to Wheeler on Oahu for KRSOC.
THREAD/DREAM JOB (please RT/share): If I could have any job in the @JoeBiden admin I would want to help rebuild & restore the VA Office of Accountability & Whistleblower Protection (OAWP). In Oct 2019 the VA Inspector General issued this scathing report 1/ va.gov/oig/pubs/VAOIG…
The IG found that the OAWP misinterpreted its statutory mandate resulting in failures to act within its investigative authority. Instead of protecting whistleblowers and investigating bad actors, it INVESTIGATED whistleblowers and PROTECTED bad actors. 2/
Further, the OAWP did not consistently conduct procedurally sound, accurate, thorough, and Unbiased investigations, and the IG found that the VA struggled with implementing the Act’s enhanced authority to hold appointees accountable. 3/
THREAD: Mueller will appear in his first interview, a two-parter, this week on The Oath with Chuck Rosenberg. Here's what I wish he would address. FIRST: why didn't you follow the money? Here's what I think we might hear: 1/
I think they DID follow SOME of the money. We recently learned about a secret fourth team headed up by Ahmad and Van Grack and they investigated a $10M payment from Egypt to trump in the waning days of the 2016 election. 1/ cnn.com/2020/10/14/pol…
This investigative reporting says that Egypt was PART of the "follow the money" team, so there could have been other aspects of that investigation. We may learn from Mueller WHY this never made it into the report. I imagine (speculative) that could be for a couple of reasons 3/
