Glenn, he held back military assistance to Ukraine to force a political favor against Biden. He twice ordered the withdrawal of US forces from Syria, ceding territory to Russia & Iran. He refused to blame or call out Russia for 2016 election interference, Navalny poisoning 1/
2/ ..arms to Taliban or now this enormous cyber attack. congress had to force bim to enforce sanctions against Russia via veto-proof majorities. Otherwise, superb point.
3/ Undermining NATO alliance, withdrawing troops from Germany, and questioning mutual defense provisions of NATO are also all gifts to Putin and the Kremlin.

New: Pentagon is planning to withdraw most support for CIA counter-terror missions by the beginning of the year, in a move expected to have a broad effect on the scope of the agency's paramilitary operations, CNN has learned. 1/
2/ Acting Def Sec Miller informed CIA Director Haspel of the decision in a letter this week. The changes, which will take place by January 5, involve returning DOD personnel detailed to the CIA & military equipment, incl Predator drones. W/ @rabrowne75 (@DefenseOne 1st reported)
3/ US military provides a wide range of support to CIA paramilitary operations, incl air transportation, logistics & medical evacuation. The move would be the latest major policy change since Pres Trump initiated a major shakeup at Pentagon following his loss to Joe Biden.

In a hail of presidential comments this week, pay some due attention to this one: Trump saying that a terror plot to kidnap @GovWhitmer (for which a dozen men have been arrested and charged by the DOJ) “maybe it was a problem, maybe it wasn’t”. 1/
2/Earlier this month, the DHS identified such groups as the greatest terrorism threat to the nation. Sec Wolf said DHS is “particularly concerned about white supremacistviolent extremists who  have been exceptionally lethal in their abhorrent, targeted attacks in recent years.”
3/ There is a defense bubbling up in some far-right circles that the group was merely planning a house arrest. Watch this training video and see if you buy that: cnn.com/videos/politic…

Headlines from my chat with Dr. Fauci this am:

1- Whether the US will have a Covid-19 by October remains "unlikely" but "not impossible," Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious diseases, told me.

"These are all guesstimates," Fauci said
2- “I would assume, & I'm pretty sure it's going to be the case, a vaccine would not be approved for the American public unless it was indeed both safe & effective. If that's the case Jim, I would not hesitate for a moment to take the vaccine myself & recommend it for my family."
3- On convalescent plasma: “The data do not indicate strongly one way or the other...It looks almost certainly that it's safe. The real question is, how effective is this? And that will have to await the proper clinical trials."
