Yup.
Trump forming his own "Lion Party" has been a fantasy of hardcore MAGA-world since 2017.
You might even have seen this Lion Party logo around, also used by the pro-Trump Lion Guard and various other militia type groups.
I wondered in November if, perhaps, Trump might decide to abandon the GOP and seek to lead an independent political force.
I wonder where he's seeing or hearing this Patriot Party talk now, though. Is he seeing it on Twitter on an alt? Is someone who's into online MAGA stuff feeding it to him?
Anyway, there's a lot to think about here: the impact on the GOP, third-positionism in general, how this might impact impeachment.... I think I'll write about it in the first edition of the Hat Tip. arieh.substack.com/p/coming-soon

The biggest pro-Trump forum TheDonald, which was formed after Reddit banned /r/the_Donald, has rebranded as "Patriots".
This change was partly because they didn't have full control over the old domain name. But it points, again, to an attempt to change the MAGA movement into a "Patriot Party", something Trump himself has spoken privately about in recent days.

Lots of anger at Trump on pro-Trump sites: " If you allow cheaters to win, you're a loser." There's a LOT of this around today ImageImageImage
This is what I was saying to @sheeraf in this NYT piece. A part of Trump's most solid base now sees him as a loser who cucked out.
Another, more worrying new message: Trump was one of THEM all along. "Biden is owned. Trump was owned"

This one looks like it's being pushed by ideological extremists, seeking to draw vulnerable Trumpers into white nationalism or Boogalooism ImageImageImageImage

A personal plea: If you have people in your life who believe in QAnon, today is the day to reach out to them, compassionately, and let them know you still care about them.
It's NOT the day to gloat and say you told them so, how ever tempting that must be. It's not the day to mock them or call them crazy.
Don't let people in your life feel that they have no choice but to go deeper. And don't them feel like they have no choices at all.

Israel's coronavirus Tzar, Prof. Nahman Ash, told the Israeli Cabinet today that the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine appears to be less effective than what Pfizer's study suggested. That's bad news for the UK's "first dose" vaccination strategy.
One reason for this difference could be the older population of vaccine recipients in real practice compared to the study.
Prof. Ash was talking specifically about the *first* vaccine shot, not the full two-shot regimen. Israel is giving the second shot 21-28 days after the first and only began administering second shots last week.

Two messaged I'm seeing in deepest MAGA-world:

1. If Trump leaves office and allows Biden to be sworn in, he'd be cucking out and surrendering America to Communism.
2. If Biden *is* inaugurated, then the it's time for action, including violent action. Most of these people are all talk, of course. But it only takes one or two.
For now, both these messages are overwhelmed by the MAGAts who are either "trusting the plan" or, at minimum, "hoping" that Biden won't be inaugurated at all and Trump will magically stay President.
