Day 17 post first Covid symptoms for my 8-years-old and 5-years-old.
They still have fever.
Quarantine has to continue until they have no fever for 2 days.
Starting to wonder if we’ll get to step outside before February.
The kids are currently Skyping with their friends -isolation is one thing, but it’s made harder on them by the fact they are the only ones. Around us life continues. My 5-year-old missed his class birthday. I didn’t tell him -I assume he’ll be added to next month birthdays.
That is if he can get back to school -as I’ve just learned both his teachers got Covid.
Hopefully the mask policy (and other safety measures) will prevent an outbreak that would close the school the very day my kids can go back :-(
Reminder: We were lucky.
I didn’t need oxygen supply, just got close, and despite the fever, the kids are OK.
But 17 days of fever?
That’s not a ”virus like any other“.
Even when things go well.
Update
I just told the dad he may not see his kids this WE -unless the fever stops tomorrow.
He kindly informed me that him and the other attendants of his anti-masks Covid deniers family Xmas only had fever for 15 days -well thank you for that information you 🤬

Govt: ”We are working closely with British meat processors to ensure they can take advantage of the opportunities and changes being outside the SM&CU will bring, and overall businesses are adjusting well to the new rules and continue to trade effectively." bbc.com/news/business-…
Questions: 1/ What opportunities? Any example of any business that took advantage of the current situation? 2/ Any example of the overall businesses adjusting well and continuing to trade effectively?
Asking because I checked the Sun Mail Express etc cover & it wasn’t on it.
Any chance the ”More business for Russia” has been delivered yet?
You know this man.
He's the guy who tried to blame New Zealand for being so good at eradicating Covid19 they do not need an emergency roll-out of the vaccine (then deleted).
For whatever reason, when I read that 👇I thought maybe this detail he mentions could be worth a read.
Ladies &gentlemen - & I kid you not- one of the "strict condition and mitigation measure" to make damaging the environment "OK" is to damage it even more by *killing all flowers* with "industry-recommended herbicide"
"To save the bees let's get rid of flowers"
cc: @GeorgeMonbiot
It's not a joke
(link here: gov.uk/government/pub…)
"To save the environment let's get rid of it!"
Also to me this seems to be pre-announcement of "GMs to save the environment" -as if there was an existing mean to do that they'd use it instead of killing flowers not to kill bees
Hopefully security services have started monitoring closely the inauguration perimeter and people involved in the insurrection
As it’d be surprising if some of those who weren’t arrested and others emboldened by lack of consequences of such actions weren’t planning something
Honestly?
I’d dragged this guy there whether or not he’s OK with it, to lower the risk of radicalised morons considering another armed riot or worse things like an explosive device
To QAnon this is invitation: He states he disagrees / no risk to potentially harm him
FTR in France, there is concern that pupils wearing masks and 15-minutes ventilation every two hours in school, together with social distancing, class bubbles and hand-washing may not be enough.
Just saying.
Ok first morning at school with a mask for my 8 years old -his 4 year old brother is not to wear one.
People we have a problem.
My youngest son is dead jealous that his brother has masks with pretty butterflies on it and WANTS ONE TOO (emphasis his).
Ok ok I'll get some more
It makes sense not to have any confidence in the current UK govt.
So don't.
But listen to the scientist who have been calling for action for weeks. They know what they are talking about.
NHS staff know what they are talking about.
Other governments know as well.
James doesn't.
You want to hold the govt to account?
Here's a list:
-Why did it wait for weeks instead of following science?
-When will it stop sending Covid money to its cronies and use it to fund local authorities/qualified suppliers/the NHS, and to support impacted businesses/people instead?
Because if this lockdown is not used to set a functional test/trace/isolate system, that can but mean another one will be necessary soon
And if businesses/people don't get the support they need, yeah, the economy will be devastated
But how to do that? 👇
I see that ”Brexit would have been great if it wasn’t for Remainers!” rhetoric is back.
So one more time:
There’s no great Brexit.
EFTA Brexit = higher cost -and wasn’t on the table
Out of SM/CU =paperwork/queue/higher costs for exports/imports.
And unsolvable issue of NI border
The problem with a ”great Brexit” is not that ”Remainers wouldn’t cheer for it”
It’s that it doesn’t exist in this reality.
Many people tried to explain that -but the alt-reality had an unchallengeable platform
Don’t blame Remainers, blame the lack of safeguards against fake news
The debate truly should have been between what’s possible and what isn’t, but it was twisted as a ”battle of opinions“.
And still is.
Which is totally unhelpful.
