The see-saw in farmer protests is to be really honest, baffling. Having open discussions should be the norm. But the attitude of the farmers to not have any discussions is really making them lose credibility. The theory that protests have been hijacked is tending to make sense.
The tragedy of this colossal mishandling by the Govt is that now this method of blackmail becomes a template for people to oppose any reforms happening in the country, on petty political grounds. Shame.
The media in their rush to grab eyeballs has not shown a farmer from any other part of the country except the protesting states, doing those farmers who are genuinely marginal holders, a massive disservice.
Sadly, the electricity act reforms have also been rolled back in an attempt to mollify the farmers. Electricity Boards give free power to farmers, incurring losses. These charges are recovered from industry or corporate connections, raising prices for them.
What a tragedy for Indian agricultre and for India in general. I agree, the farm laws are not perfect and we said so. Let us discuss on those imperfections. Let us work on them.

I suppose the SC formed panel would have done that. Farmers rejected that as well.
I don't believe that the farmers from Punjab speak for the rest of the country. No other state enjoys the MSP procurement like they do. In a diverse land like India, the population of a few has successfully held the rest ransom.
And now this protest and roko system has successfully become a template for everyone to oppose everything that happens in India. Unless individual state Govts figure out a way to remodel agriculture, we are going to be stuck in the same broken cycle.
At the very end, I have a grim fact. Punjab is said to run out of groundwater entirely by 2039. Their own State Govt says this. My question to people like @diljitdosanjh is, when Punjab runs out of water, who will you blame?

Lastly, it is a huge shame @narendramodi @nstomar, the inability to take stakeholders along messed it up. The way the laws have been handled, their hurried passage in Rajya Sabha with voice vote was despicable. This conduct alienated people and pushed them towards misinformation.
I only hope the smarter thing to do @nstomar @PiyushGoyal is to invest more in Krishi Vigyaan Kendras, strengthen agri education in India, and find a way to implement the good sections of the law in a few States as an example. We urgently need water management in farming.
Rather than excess budgetary support to MSP procurement, I hope when the FM says its a revolutionary budget, they focus on what needs to be fixed in Agriculture. The supply side. The farms, the broken soil, the depleted groundwater. Because those changes will truly revolutionize

@ShekharGupta, we read a lot of The Print to get a perspective on different matters. When it comes to the #FarmBills, I genuinely hope you can start providing more well-rounded coverage that nobody is doing these days
I would love to see farmers from Odisha, TN, Assam interviewed
I would love perspective of Agri ministers, FPOs, Co-operatives from other parts of the country. Your own publication had a well written article by @ShamikaRavi about the decline on Punjab. And while I agree to it, I can't help but think at present, the focus is only on Punjab
Why not bring on the ground reports or interviews from all over the country? Let the farmers outside of Delhi-Punjab-UP area voice their views. Let us understand their problems. Not all of them likely benefit from MSP anyway. Their challenges will be completely different

One of the biggest ailments these days is whatabout-ism

Someone talks about A - but what about B

Someone talks about B - but what about C

Followed by hatred, canceling the person and general trolling.
I'm very curious about who all these gatekeepers are:

1. To decide every topic of what we should talk about

2. To decide how much to care about a particular topic

3. To jump to assumptions that we speak about one topic means we exclude every other topic we care about.
There are so many things that happen every single day, it is impossible for one person to keep a track of every single thing. If you can do it, well and good. Don't assume everyone else knows what you are talking about.

Let's talk menstrual cups and periods. Ask me whatever questions you have and I'll do my best to answer.

I have been using a cup since June 2020 and it has literally freed me. I use a Sirona Small. I've answered some really common questions below.
1. The best way to find your size is a finger test. You will need to insert a finger in your vagina and then find your size. This video will help you:

2. Don't go by the descriptions on the menstrual cup website. Your age has nothing to do with your cervix size. Your size can't be changed unless you give birth. So, you have to measure it. Make sure to measure it when you are close to your period.

Things to keep in mind when u r helping a Dhaba wala get back on his feet #Thread
1. If you're asking for donations from the people DO NOT TAKE IT INTO YOUR OWN ACCOUNT. Give direct details. You are not a registered NGO. How are you going to explain it to IT dept?
2. Don't give your wife's / friend's / anybody else's account either. Of course, unless your ultimate plan is to fool the IT dept and keep all the money to yourself.
3. Have clear communication with the person you are trying to help. In the end, even if you have not scammed them but they feel scammed, what was the whole point?
