#Hustlernation is built on trauma which Kenyans don't want to deal with.

And it's really interesting that when Kenyans talk about the hustle, they equate it not to the work they do, but to a rich man.

The kind of trauma that makes you suppress your own story and focus on someone else's is the stuff of fiction.

Kenyans are so exploited. And every time we try to talk about it, we're told the problem is "policy," or that we're not following the rules.

The people who should be helping us are unions. But what is @AtwoliDza doing? Promoting the agenda of exploiters. #hustlernation

And what is exploiter #2 doing? Weaponizing the grievances against both of them, but removing himself from the equation.

It's language games, but because Kenyans have been told the arts don't matter, they can't see it. #hustlernation

But the #hustlernation is borrowing the tactics of Jubilee 2013, when they paid a British PR firm to weaponize the rhetoric of anti-imperialism

The middle class has to stop whining about #hustlernation and take charge of that narrative. Politicians steal not only money - they steal our trauma, our work, our confidence. They stole the hustler narrative from hip hop and from ordinary Kenyans.

And this phenomenon of linguistic and cultural theft didn't start in Kenya. It started in the US when the rich appropriated the language of hip hop hop.
