1/ I recently realized that to take advantage of #medtwitter I need to change my approach. So here goes
About me: I’m 31, born & raised in NYC...which means I learned how to drive at 26, I have a GoogleDoc of celeb sightings, & I run into people everywhere, including @ work.
3/ Why a postbac? Because in college I studied Econ & Slavic Studies. I actually spent my junior year in London at @LSE_GC and the following summer in St. Petersburg, Russia.
TBH I don’t think I could have gotten thru #premed as an undergrad and I loved my time at Columbia.
4/ Why #medicine? Well, my mom’s a doctor and always loved her job so that played a role. Plus, at the end of college I realized I wanted a stable career that was interesting & profound. I can't think of any regrets...okay fine the cost is insane.
5/ Why #neurology? I was intimidated by Neuro in med school. #Neurophobia. During my clerkship I studied extra hard assuming I’d bomb the #NBME, but it was actually my first honors. I was shocked, but began to realize if I was intimidated by Neuro, what about patients & families?
6/ Plus, everyone in Neurology was super interesting a friendly and the specializations allow you to do inpatient or outpatient and everything between ICU and management of chronic conditions.
7/ If this doesn't work I will post photos of friends dogs.
