The bill #SB91 is a half-measure that is being rushed through the legislative process without significant input from tenants who would be most impacted.
We're relieved the bill will extend important #AB3088 eviction protections through 6/30/21. Yet amid #Covid19 tenants need FULL rent debt relief. Rather than guaranteeing relief to all struggling tenants, #SB91 leaves the fate of vulnerable tenants in the hands of landlords. 3/6
Some landlords will choose to participate in the program, bringing necessary rent debt relief. But other landlords may choose to reject this program, leaving their tenants holding significant debt and facing homelessness. We are deeply concerned that... 3/6

In 2018, Public Counsel joined @manatt and @lccrsf in filing a class action suit challenging an unlawful policy by the Trump Administration that would have denied humanitarian relief like SIJS to hundreds of immigrant children in CA. Juliana was one of the class members. 3/9
