Rep. Virginia Foxx has a primary challenger. She will be 79 on election day and it's unclear if she's even running again. Hines is a former NC State football player.
Foxx is notorious for being one of the very worst bosses in Congress.
But if Foxx retires, a much much bigger name will get in the race. Speaker Tim Moore is all but certain to run.
In the last remap of North Carolina, he drew his home county into the district.

Amazing how Guardians of the Galaxy came out over six years ago and DC still hasn't made a Legion of Superheroes movie. Legion was the original GOTG.
Miles Morales is gonna show up in live action before they do a Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle movie.

In high school I had a super weird english teacher senior year. He was a divorced alcoholic who collected guns.
Had tattoos and nipple piercings too
He also rode a motorcycle.

The Aztecs were neat folks
I have something of an interest in pre-Columbian cultures.
Was always more interested in the Inca though. One of my best papers in college was about the Inca. Really fascinating society. They built a sprawling civilization with limited resources.

None of this is gonna happen. I'm not sure you'd even find 35 votes in the Senate for this let alone 51 or 60.
I'm not sure some of this stuff would even fly under the Byrd rule. Blowing up the Byrd rule isn't going to happen because that's the same as blowing up the filibuster.
Budget reconciliation isn't all powerful or you'd see it used more often. There are restrictions on what you can do with it.

In this week's newsletter, I look at Colorado's 6th District. First up, here's 2016. Both Hillary Clinton and Senator Michael Bennet won the district but voters reelected moderate GOP Rep. Mike Coffman.

Flash forward four years later and the district's leftward march continues. Biden, Hickenklooper, and Crow each won by double digits here.
