FAQs about KFUPM Scholarship.

I'm sure many of you have questions about this scholarship, especially for people who already applied before.

So, chill and unwind.

Tag your friends to read some hidden truths about the scholarship:
This link explains everything about the scholarship: kfupm.edu.sa/deanships/dgs/…

It covers MBA, Msc and PhD Scholarships, all fully funded.

Make sure you read everything here, including the financial benefits😎😆.

Also, read all the FAQs here: kfupm.edu.sa/deanships/dgs/… Image
Que 1: What can I do if I don't have the complete official transcript as stated here:

Ans: You can use your student copy tentatively, but make sure you are working on the official copy, because it will be needed when you eventually get there. Image
Que 2: What if I don't have TOEFL, GRE and Degree certificates or I don't meet up to the cut-off marks, as shown here:

Ans: Let me tell you one unstated truth:

KFUPM is such an amazing school that your test scores won't affect your admission, although it's not written on the Image
website.

You can see that these documents are non-mandatory.

Once you meet the mandatory requirements, your admission is sure, although very competitive.

In the admission letter, they will tell you to submit your test scores to secure the admission.
Please try to do it, to increase your chances in other scholarships.

But, if you cannot write the exam, KFUPM will call you irrespective, when your visa is ready.

The school will conduct FREE TOEFL exam for you the second week you get to Saudi. If you pass, it will be waived.
But, know that the TOEFL cannot be used for other schools.

Also, if you can have at least 3.5/4 first semester GP, GRE will be waived.

Can you now see that the test scores do not really matter?

NOTE: They can decide to change the rules this year. But this has been the norm
for many years.

So, If you ask me, I will tell you to write the exam because it will definitely increase your chances in other countries...and who says KFUPM won't make it compulsory soon?
Que 3: Is the scholarship for male and female?

Ans: For now, it's for International male. The school is trying to incorporate females into it, from my personal observation.

Que 4: I heard that KFUPM has issues with visa. I have been given admission since 2018, but yet to be
issued visa. What can I do?

Ans: The truth is that visa issues are in the hands of the Ministry and KFUPM is just one school out of others in the kingdom.

I heard that the Govt regulates the number of visas distributed across the schools.
So, your visa may be delayed for ATLEAST A YEAR, after given the admission letter.

In most cases, many people write the test scores, get admission elsewhere and MOVE ON.

In my own case, I applied in Jan. 2016, got admission in May 2016. But I resumed school in January 2018
because I didn't get offers from other places. So, I was working in Lagos till the visa came.

This is why you should be proactive in this application.

CAVEAT: If you follow Saudi news, you must have heard a lot of reformations taking place.

I heard that the visa issues will
most likely be resolved soon.

But until then, this is the plain, unbiased, undiluted, unstated reality.

I didn't know all these until I got to the kingdom myself.
Que 5: How did you cope in Saudi, being a Christian?

Ans: I am a FREE person and I don't judge.

When I chatted @particular6 and discovered he was there, it gave me the boost.

He survived, and I did too.

I have said in my previous tweets; ignore sentiments about the
country. Your job as a student is to read, enjoy the Riyals and build your future. You will always see people like you everywhere in the world.

I enjoyed my stay there because nobody pressured me about my religion.

In fact, I learnt a lot from them too.
This open mindset is what you need to navigate life.

KFUPM gave me the research background that I am now leveraging on.

Que 6: Tell me about the research and academic life:

Ans: If you don't have at least 3.0/4 semester GPA, your admission and benefits are already shaking.
The academic and research in KFUPM are tough I must say.

They send people home if you don't meet up because they will give you everything you need.

You can save almost 80% of what you earn because everything is almost FREE.

And to whom much is given, ....................
Que 7: What happens after KFUPM?

Ans: Your best bet is the USA and Canada, and of course, other countries.

KFUPM is world standard and is more ranked than many schools in the USA and Canada. (Check online yourself)

So, if you do a good job, you won't have issues going
elsewhere after your studies.

@particular6 @aaslateef @naslek @abdsalaama

Did I miss any point?🤣

Goodluck guys as you apply.

How to get Fully-Funded Scholarship(s).

1. Go to University pages in different countries of the world, look for your course and email professors in your field. (This is the best and most efficient).

Everything you need to achieve this is described in my pinned tweets 1-10.
2. Look for Government-funded Scholarships in different countries of the world. Check their criteria, and apply.

I have explained how to get fully-funded scholarships in Sweden, Germany, France, UAE, Australia, Poland, etc. Check my pinned tweets again. Next is China.
Note that this method is more competitive because it is already public.

3. Look for advertised Positions by Lecturers or Departments: Sometimes, lecturers advertise scholarship positions in their labs. We usually post many of this on this street. Send emails to the lecturers

What he needs here is writing skills, and that can only be developed by practice.

1. Very few public Universities do publishable undergraduate project. That's normal. He should develop himself by reading materials and articles in the areas he wants.
2. Diversity is a blessing in disguise, provided he knows how to synergise all of those experiences to suit his desired goal. To do this effectively, he needs to read SOPs.
@Exquisita_lady, please attach all the SOP tweets from scholars on this street for this person to learn.
3. This person must beat all test scores with 'clean sheet'. His GRE and TOEFL must be really good. That's a way to tell anyone that you already know what you are doing.

4. Start reading research papers of the professors in your field of interest. You will surely not understand.

Facts about @particular6 and I:

1. We used to stay in the same area in Nigeria throughout our primary and secondary school.

2. We attended the same primary and secondary school, Oluwatosin Comprehensive College, Agbado, Ogun State.

3. He was a year ahead of me im school.
4. @particular6 was the best student in the whole school and he was very oratory. Nobody beats @particular6 in debate. He started interclass debate as early as primary 3 or 4. I remember the famous debate: 'Military rule is better than civilian rule' that his class won
effortlessly, courtesy of his vocal dexterity.

Now you can see why he is always at the front line of everything in FUTA. It has been in him.

5. He went to FUTA, studied Chemistry and became the god of Chemistry; I went to LAUTECH to study electrical engineering.
