“When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel better... but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think it is.” -Dr. Fauci, March 2020
"Seriously people STOP WEARING MASKS. They are NOT effective in preventing the general public from catching coronavirus." - Surgeon General, February 29 2020
Can anyone explain what precise scientific developments between today and March could have justified this drastic change in narrative? Medical masks have been around for centuries. What do we know about them today that we didn't know just a few months ago? Please be specific.
*Actually, let me amend. The change in the mask narrative happened in the course of a month, not ten months. So what discoveries between March and April justified the switch from "masks are effectively pointless" to "wear a mask or you're anti-science"?
Whether you think masks are effective or not, isn't there extremely compelling evidence here that our public officials are lying to us? And if masks do save lives, then aren't men like Fauci responsible for the deaths of thousands for telling people not to wear them early on?

Anyone still pretending that cancel culture isn't real might want to consider this case. A baby sleep training expert has been boycotted and attacked ruthlessly after someone dug through FEC records and found out she donated to Trump. They even posted her address online.
It's not like people are responding to political statements she made. She's a non-political person, in a non-political field, who got doxxed because of some campaign donations she made. This is cancel culture. This is what we mean when we refer to it.
Oh and this headline from @TheCut is disgraceful. "Funneling the profits" tries to make it sound somehow sinister that she was giving a few dollars of her own personal money to a PAC. And we have no way of knowing if it came from her business's profits (not that it matters).
Many of the people making minimum wage are high school kids who live at home. The idea that businesses should be forced to pay a "living wage" even to people who don't need it and aren't worth the investment is simply madness.
Competent adults aren't slaving away at jobs for years on end and still making only minimum wage. If you are an adult and have been working in an industry for years and are still only making minimum wage, you have problems that a minimum wage hike can't fix.
According to the BLS, only 2 percent of hourly workers make the federal minimum or less. For workers over 25, it's 1 percent.
[Thread] To demonstrate why it is insane to allow males to compete against girls in sports, here are the results from the 2019 Connecticut state championships. Miller and Yearwood, both males, came in first and second in the girls 55 meter dash. Third place was far behind.
Now here are the results from the boys meet. This is the field Yearwood and Miller should have competed against. They wouldn’t have even finished in the top 7, or close to it. These are mediocre male athletes who absolutely dominate the girls. Why? Because biology.
Another example. The 300 meter. Miller crushes the girls, finishing first by almost a full second (an eternity in a sprint). Now look at the boys. He would not have even sniffed 12th place. Wouldn’t have qualified for the finals at all, in fact.
The fascinating thing about Qanon is that there was never any evidence of any kind to support it -- ever, at all. It was literally just a bad movie plot that some rando on the internet made up, and many people believed it out of hand, automatically, for no discernible reason.
Usually conspiracy theorists can hang their hat on a few lines of evidence. Taken out of context and misinterpreted, of course, but at least there's something there. With this, there's nothing. Just nothing at all. It's hard to even say people were "duped." I mean duped by what?
This was just a delusion that people walked right into, almost willingly, and adopted. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything quite like it.
Look, you can rant about the “the Republican Party” all you want, and blame them for not living up to their promises, but if you are exempting Trump from those criticisms then you’re as much of a gutless squish as the people you’re complaining about
The fact is that Trump ran as a “law and order” candidate but when rampaging mobs destroyed our city he spent most of them time tweeting the words “law and order” and bragging about the prison reform bill he worked on with Kim Kardashian.
He also supported the lockdowns after opposing them, and handed his government over to Fauci and Birx even while still whining about them on twitter and in Fox interviews.
