Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin has detailed the delivery schedule for the next month:

0 doses this week
79K doses next week
70K doses week of Feb. 8
335K doses week of Feb. 15
395K doses week of Feb. 22

(These are Pfizer numbers alone - 230,400shots from Moderna are expected next week; 249,600
the week of Feb. 22.)

There's a great deal of confusion over whether it's 3.5M or 4M doses by the end of March — the general insists Pfizer has told Canada it will be 4M by the end of Q1 —  and @anitaoakville is not at this press conference.

It seems the feds have told the provinces to anticipate at least 3.5M — and plan based on that figure — but Ottawa is still expecting Pfizer will meet the 4M delivered by March 31 promise.

"We are holding them accountable to the 4 million Q1 doses," says Arianne Reza, the assistant deputy minister for Public Services and Procurement

Canada was expecting 366,000 Pfizer doses per week in February — we won't meet that target.

So, if the government is still holding to the 4M by end of March figure, shipments will have to be considerably higher.

While the U.S. is grappling with distribution issues of its own — the press there has said President Joe Biden is "inheriting a complete disaster" and an "absolute mess" from the last administration — the Americans have so far vaccinated 24.5 million people with at least one dose

The U.S., with a population roughly nine times bigger than Canada, has fully vaccinated 3.8 million Americans with the two-dose regime of either the Pfizer or Moderna products, compared to about 150,00 people in Canada.
