POLITICO just published a hilarious anti-China tract, and I recommend people to seriously put some effort into 1) reading it, 2) contextualizing it.
Anyone discussing China and playing down the "White Supremacy" angle is leading you astray.

DC Lanyards are completely shook.
Image
Kennan's 1948 memo is an exceptionally revealing white supremacy manifesto, that very clearly defines that the threat is *Communism*, not some vague gushy non-ideological realpolitik battle for resources.
history.state.gov/historicaldocu… ImageImage
Why does Xi Jinping bother these lanyards so much? Why are they losing their minds about him specifically? Why not an ounce of credit from our press?

Because Xi Jinping competent, powerful, and completely beyond the reach of their bribes.
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/0… ImageImageImageImage
I'm hesitant to say "first as tragedy then as farce" because it elevates Kennan a bit, and I don't think he deserves any credit, but at the same time, the pure shit that China Watchers are coming out with these days is profoundly uninspired. Image
Author's delusional.

When Kissinger, Kennan, and Brzezinski were sketching out their genocidal plans for American dominance, the US was at its absolute strongest.

Now it's ravaged by plague, managing an illusory economy. The "US State" is a bunch of cops guarding a McMansion. Image
A lot of people DM me expressing that they feel inadequate. They have credentialed friends and don't know how to counter them.

Read documents like this one to realize that the emperor isn't wearing *any clothes at all*.

*Anyone* can produce better political analysis than this. Image
The author is trying so hard to ape a solemn style, salivating at the prospect of one day revealing himself to be behind this history-altering memo... yet insists on CCP over CPC.

It's as if Kennan et al insisted on misspelling Stalin's name to get a petty own in there. ImageImage
I don't know.

I think there's something amusing about the fact that the US is so hollowed out by brain-drain towards vulture finance and do-nothing tech, so hubristic and drunk off of its own propaganda, that these dregs are all that is left behind to do "intelligence" work.
In conclusion:
- George Kennan was basically a Nazi.
- Modern "polisci gurus" are caricatures of Kennan, but more disconnected from reality.
- Pretending this conflict is "non-ideological" and has nothing to do with Marxism-Leninism is foolish even if you're not US-aligned.

Adam Curtis apparently is threatening us with another of his nihilistic, both-sides-are-bad, "works" against "totalitarianism."

Remember who Adam Curtis is before pushing his jaded socialist garbage.

h/t @jcfrancisco
There's literally no reason to read, listen to, or watch the works of British anti-communists in 2021.

If you were ever forced to read Orwell, you've had more than enough for one lifetime.

People will sit there and let Curtis pump libertarian sewage into their minds for two straight hours, then turn around and mourn gravely about massification and consumerism.

This is fascist garbage.

I gave this guy the benefit of the doubt a few times, but there's no way to talk about "treasured US values" without stomping all over indigenous and Black struggles.
Not long ago this guy was arguing that drug users deserved violence while making a narrow "cultural" exception for alcohol, basically ignoring the ultra-racist US context.

Now he's talking about "unique US values."

Connect the dots.
Mr. "Anti-woke anti-ipdol" over here is trying to pull the "I'm a Latin American" card, blissfully unaware that I'm Peruvian and have traveled extensively within my country, including shanty towns.

What now, Zizek?

You know @ASPI_org?

Following Adrian Zenz getting exposed a white supremacist religious fundamentalist, it became the #1 source on all matters China for the White Western Press.

Guess what?

You know those "satellite images" you keep seeing all over?

They all come from Nathan Ruser, a random "computer whiz kid" hired by this weapons-manufacturer.

The kid doesn't even know what role QR codes play in China.
You know that "victim testimony"?

Well, it's packed full of people like Rushan Abbas.

The Peruvian "left" insists on throwing Venezuela under the bus to try to appear "respectable" for the upcoming elections.

"You have to blame Maduro, not sanctions" they cry out.

I disagree. And it makes them all sound like unconvincing opportunists.
history.state.gov/historicaldocu… ImageImageImage
Sanctions are the modern equivalent of medieval sieges.

Literally no different than catapults and armies parked outside the walls of an ancient city, choking off all trade, hoping that anger, disease, and hunger fester.

And they get *extremely* thorough:

toads from the AP and The Economist are furious that China has a large Uyghur population from which to draw positive testimony to counter their latest wave of atrocity propaganda

"how *dare* China present happy Uyghurs to oppose our angry, CIA-funded, regime-change Uyghurs!? 🤬"
This Gady Epstein guy is particularly amusing

Some random thoughts about the psychology of ETIM exiles, Venezuelan/Cuban "expats," QAnon folk, HK rioters, Ukrainian Nazis in Canada, etc.

@moghilemear13's latest thread debunking a @guardian "long read" about the "Uyghur Gulag" got me thinking about it.
So, the woman who was supposedly sent to the gulag previously had a job in PetroChina, in what @moghilemear13 describes as an oil boomtown.

It seems like the pool of people who get radicalized isn't "the bottom of society," but the "upwardly mobile."
I was reading a (bad) essay on Mao Zedong by Zizek a while back, and this bit from him by it always stuck with me.

Zizek is literally quoting *Robert Conquest* (lol), but what made an impression was that the idea of the "subkulak" was so easily dismissed:
