@jidesanwoolu
The Lagos Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has reduced the processing time for Planning Permit from 28 days to 18 days, the lay-out approval process from 90 days to 30 days and the adoption of one stage approval for layout instead of the existing two stages.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr @idreezsalako, who disclosed this at the end of the annual retreat of the Ministry added that the Ministry and its agencies ...
... have also resolved to re-engineer their operating procedures to meet 21st-century demands of the Lagos Megacity.
According to him “We intend to ensure that our activities and those of the Agencies are attuned to the 21st-century demands of the Lagos Megacity.
The functionaries of the Physical Planning sector would develop performance matrix with timelines and sign to a performance bond regarding the execution of the resolutions from the retreat”.

@jidesanwoolu
While noting that members of staff have renewed their commitment to enhanced service delivery, he asserted that the Ministry will remain focussed on synergy between its agencies, particularly the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) ...
... and the Lagos State Building Control Agency (@LasbcaA), in the areas of revenue generation and enforcement.
Salako emphasised that the outcome of the retreat held great promises for Lagos State as they were capable of delivering many advantages, including improved revenue, ..
.... enhanced service delivery, reduction of bottlenecks in Planning Permit and Layout approvals as well as a drastic reduction in illegal building construction and seamless attainment of a livable, orderly and sustainable built environment.
He urged departments and units in the Ministry and Agencies to own the resolutions, while also renewing their commitments to providing needed solutions to myriad challenges confronting the system.
