Since we're all out here sharing our @roamhacker (<- ♥) SmartBlocks with our fellow #roamcult members, I'll do a short thread on what my daily routine template looks like. 🧵

First of all, I'm using <%CONCAT%> A LOT. This allows me to put tags, properties and links in my template - but not in a linked format. So when I query for a tag somewhere else, the template blocks never show up - because they don't have the tag in the corresponding format.

That said - it's tedious to type that out every time. So I use roam/templates as templates for tags, links etc. in my templates. This way I can insert them as templates via ;; and not have them resolve, because they are not 42SmartBlock templates. Does that make sense?

I insert a button in the inbox section of my daily routine that imports my inbox items from @todoist. I customized some stuff, but this is largely the Todoist gateway, that the wonderful @LavercombeMark shared.

I link each DNP to my weekly page that I use for prioritization on a weekly basis and sort of as an overview. The weekly page is always dated to the Monday of a week. The <%IFDAYOFWEEK%> think is there because in Roam the week starts on Sunday - in Germany it starts on Monday...

Which - by the way - @RoamResearch, I'd love to be able to change the localization of my Graph to have (for example) my weeks start on a Monday. Maybe the option is there and I just didn't find it 🤷‍♂️

I do the same thing for a monthly page, dated to the last day of the month. And while I'm at it, I also pull in a random daily quote from all blocks I tagged with "QotD".

Once in a while, I pull in a task to clean up leftover Quick Capture blocks and to tidy up my tracking tasks. For this I create a query under the task so that I don't have to go off and hunt them. Notice how I exclude "query" from the queries to avoid finding my old queries 😉

The rest of the template is significantly less interesting, so I'm gonna stop here. But let me thank @roamhacker again - SmartBlocks are a game changer, I'm absolutely loving it! If you're not all over this, #roamcult, you're missing out big time!
