Send your champions - I will debate anyone on this.
It’s a complex topic not well suited for tweets.
But yes, much of this is solved by DLTs.
Root issue is a bad ledger & trusted 3rd parties.
A database can’t fix this.
A database is what we already have on Wall St and it’s a mess.
Understanding how to fix it first requires understanding how it works now (it’s counterintuitive). It’s a mistake to assume it’s an easy fix with “a database”.
A solution has to solve the problem of hundreds of various parties not trusting each other and complex high volume reporting and other factors.
It’s all about saying what is true in an untrusted environment.
Blockchains are actually good at that.
Don’t get hung up on worrying about it meaning a bunch of junk token assets. Sure, it will — but that’s not the point. It’s not about junk tokens. It’s about a better ledger. Simple. Nothing more. Nothing less.
A better ledger can work for junk or for excellent securities.
A distributed ledger is better because it doesn’t have the bottleneck of the current system.
When we move a Litecoin from one crypto exchange to another across the globe we know when it arrives because the chain tells us. No central trusted 3rd party is needed.
#Bitcoin is a better form of money that happens to use a better ledger
With securities it’s just the ledger part—
the securities don’t become better or worse, they just move a bit better — they also don’t need the level of security Bitcoin does because securities are centralized
The securities are centralized but the ledger isn’t
That’s another key difference from Bitcoin — Bitcoin the money and the ledger are decentralized — totally different thing not competing in any way
Just using some common tech & ideas on eliminating trusted 3rd parties
Here’s more on how the current ledger system works
I’ve got to run for now but please ask any questions or leave your constructive criticisms or skepticism
Key is understanding the problem and how it works now
