For God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of Gods glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God & not from us.
Since was a YOUNG girl. My parents listened to a band called “Jars of clay”.
I remember always being so captivated yet curious with their phrase.
Now it’s one of the most beautiful things to me. He is the potter & we are clay. He is in us always. (/2)
While the jar is delicate, it’s refined by fire. It’s delicate enough to be shattered into a thousand tiny fragments. It becomes chipped and cracked.
The jar, after all, is a earthly vessel. A vessel is meant to hold something. (3)
We hold the most valuable treasure inside of them, the life of God.
Our cracks & chips, we are not supposed to despite them. We are supposed to see the purpose they serve! So that the life of God can seep out for all around us to see. Our sufferings produce perseverance. (4)
So that we may be made complete. Our weakness is made strong through Him.
God brought completion through the suffering of His Son.
No matter what we go through, trust He will do the same through us.
