A thread about upgrading your @joinClubhouse audio if you are a musician or voiceover artist and already have a vocal setup. Image
1) Let's start with the gear used in this setup:

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (3rd Gen) USB Audio Interface
(It doesn't have to be a 2i2 but they are pretty popular. Though if you are using a 2i2 it does need to be a 3rd Gen. to use the control software.)

2) Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge Rockstar
(This will allow you to keep your iPhone charged while on calls.)

3) Lighting to 3.5mm TRRS connector
(It's $9 don't buy a knock off...)

4) iRig2
(You might be able to find another option but Clubhouse's audio is captured in caller mode and some iPhone audio interfaces do not work that way.)

5) Hosa CYP 103 - TS Y Cable
(The main reason for this vs a standard 1/4 TS cable is to allow a stereo track from your computer to be summed to mono for Clubhouse. If you don't need stereo any 1/4 TS cable can be used.)

6) Cable Matters (1/8 Inch) 3.5mm to XLR Cable
(This allows the audio of your iPhone to be sent as a second channel to your interface. This way you can hear the rest of the channel in your headphones.)

7) You will need your mic of choice.
(That's a very personal item so I leave it to you OR you can buy a Shure SM7B if you want to follow the "cool trend"...)

8) Ok NOW for the tricky part.

You will need a way to mix your headphones and your monitor mix separately.
(The 2i2 Gen 3 and interfaces like the Appollo Twin X have software to do this.)

Focusrite Control:

9) The Setup:
Essentially you want 2 separate mixes.
- Headphones Mix (CH1 + CH2)
- Monitor Mix (CH1 + Mac Out)

A video about how to do use Focusrite Control:
10) The Monitor Mix:

You will want to only route CH1 (Your Mic) and your Mac's Audio Out to this mix.
This is what your audience will hear from You when your mic is open.

(You don't want CH2 because you would just be feeding your iPhone's sound back to itself.)
11) The Headphone Mix:

This you will want to mix a little of CH1 and CH2 so you can hear yourself and everyone else in your room. If you are planning to send audio from your computer in this case a Mac, you will also want to route that to your Headphones as well.
12) Now that we have all the gear and the digital routing, let's look back at the diagram for plugging everything in: Image
13) Clubhouse will ask you if you want to switch to Music Mode and if you are playing audio I'd suggest taking the app up on the mode.

(This keeps Clubhouse's noise suppression from squashing your tunes as background noise. Think of it as "Use Original Audio" in Zoom.
14) If you have any questions about how this system works or how to customize it for your own needs send me a DM.

Or if you find any problems with any of the gear please comment on those individual posts so I can keep track of changes.

I hope this helps.
Shoutout to @CherieBTay & @ecottle817 for challenging me to work on this problem.

And thanks to @dcarrow555 & tyehuntfitzgerald.com for the counsel.

Growing up I hated school because if I didn't know something I was made to feel stupid. I had ADD so I wasn't like other kids around me.

Learning in Public has been made exciting for the first time for me thanks to @RoamResearch and a little prodding from @Conaw. Image
Before tonight I was really intimidated when it came to CSS styling. So I tweeted about reverting to a workaround before Roam added the ability to just use markdown to make a header line.

When the markdown option was released I didn't like it cause it was thick and ugly...

But really I was just angry because I didn't know how to change the CSS.
