The No. 2 House Republican, Steve Scalise, said this to me when asked if Marjorie Taylor Greene should lose her commiteee spots. “Look we're gonna be talking about all this in conference tomorrow,” he said, adding he still hadn’t spoken with Kevin McCarthy.
Asked if he had any concerns over her views, Scalise said to me: “I’ve been very very vocal about that.”
Scalise may be referring to his past criticism of Greene during last year’s primary, though he ultimately set aside those concerns after she won her runoff. cnn.com/2020/09/16/pol…
Scalise did raise concerns last week when asked about Greene’s recently revealed comments. “I’ve consistently condemned the use of violent rhetoric in politics on both sides, and this is no exception. There is no place for comments like that in our political discourse.”
