BREAKING: Another Proud Boy leader has been arrested in connection w/the Capitol attack.
Prosecutors announced charges against ETHAN NORDEAN of Washington who was marched with Joe Biggs on Jan. 6
Nordean had been under close investigation for more than a week after prosecutors saw video of him leading a mob of about 100 Proud Boys toward the Capitol. nytimes.com/live/2021/02/0…
Prosecutors say Nordean, the sergeant at arms of the Seattle PBs, wrote before the riot, "...We are coming for them...Black and yellow teamed with red, white and blue against everyone else.”
After the riot, he posted: “If you feel bad for the police, you are part of the problem."
Interesting detail in Nordean charging docs: Prosecutors say he had a brief conversation w/Robert Gieswein, an alleged 3 Percenter militiaman, before the Capitol attack.
Gieswein, left, was later photographed inside the Capitol w/Dominic Pezzola, center, another Proud Boy member who's been charged w/conspiracy.
“Nordean’s posts prior to Jan. 6 indicate that he and other Proud Boys were planning in advance to organize a group that would attempt to overwhelm police barricades and enter the US Capitol Building.”
Two days before the riot, prosecutors say, Nordean posted on Parler saying the Proud Boys were like right wing soldiers and would lead the way. “This stuff is real,” he wrote. “We are in a war.”
More Proud Boys news: Prosecutors have unsealed conspiracy indictment vs Nick Ochs, president of the PB's Hawaii chapter, and Nick DeCarlo who runs the PB's media outfit, Murder the Media.
They say the two conspired to raise $ to travel to DC & disrupt the election certification.
Ochs, left, and DeCarlo, right, are accused of writing "Murder the Media" on a door at the Capitol and of stealing flexicuffs belonging to Capitol Police.
The conspiracy indictment vs Ochs & DeCarlo is the second Proud Boys conspiracy case. The first involved Dominic Pezzola & William Pepe who were charged w/conspiring to obstruct & interfere w/police protecting the Capitol.

In the last two days, the US attorney's office in DC has staffed up the Oath Keepers conspiracy case with 3 new prosecutors.
There are only three defendants at this point, perhaps suggesting more charges are pending.
John E. Sullivan of Utah was sent home after the Capitol riot even though he was charged w/breaking into the bldg in tactical gear & filming & cheering other rioters.
Now prosecutors want him in jail, saying he violated his release by appearing on Infowars & denying any regrets.
The FBI says Ryan Samsel, of Bristol PA, was in a mob that assaulted a Capitol police officer in a confrontation at a barricade. "We don't have to hurt you," Samsel said, according to the officer. "Why are you standing in our way?"
The officer later blacked out, was hospitalized.
When the FBI investigated Samsel, they found he was already wanted on a assault warrant out of New Jersey.
A few thoughts on last night's Proud Boys conspiracy charges having now read the indictment. 1. The govt alleges at least for now a conspiracy that lasted only 1 day. Perhaps they'll supersede w/more info. But at present, they're not accusing the defendants of much preplanning.
That said, govt is alleging the two defendants, Dominic Pezzola & William Pepe, conspired w/others "known & unknown to the grand jury," which means 1. There's a grand jury (apparently) still investigating and 2. There could easily be more charges on this indictment.
Here the govt seems to suggest that Pezzola & Pepe were part of the 100ish strong gang of PBs that mustered in DC on Jan. 6 & marched on the Capitol under the leadership of Joe Biggs. Biggs has been charged in a separate case on a complaint. Will the two cases merge?
NEW: Prosecutors unseal conspiracy charges against Proud Boys Dominic "Spaz" Pezzola and William Pepe. No paperwork yet.
Pezzola, a former Marine from Rochester, can be seen in photos w/Pepe, an employee of New York City's Metropolitan Transit Authority.
This is first conspiracy indictment related to the Proud Boys. In other Proud Boys court papers, prosecutors hinted at a conspiracy, noting that Pezzola, one of the first rioters to breach the Capitol, was wearing an earpiece for comms.
The FBI says Eric Chase Torrens, seen left in the fleece hat, illegally entered the Capitol w/his friends from Tennessee, Matthew Bledsoe & Jack J. Griffith. Bledsoe & Griffith were charged last week.
The FBI arrested Justin McAuliffe, 39, of Long Island, after he posted a Facebook photo of his cellphone set to the Senate's public WiFi network.
Prosecutors are now saying that Michael Foy, a Michigan man arrested for assaulting police officers at the Capitol with a hockey stick, beat at least 10 cops, including some who were downed, also threw a sharpened pole at them.
According to new court papers, Foy, a former Marine trained in combat, engaged in some of the most violent conduct at the Capitol riot.
