๐๐๐ผ๐๐๐ in eastern Slavic mythology is credited to be the first born creator God who emerged from a cosmic egg.
Prior to his birth,
Svarog was in the form of Rod.
Rod is the form of Svarog prior to the creation of the cosmic egg.
He is the initial spring of life.
The one who โplannedโ, โdesignedโ and initiated the creation of the cosmic egg.
When the egg cracked, Svarog emerged in an androgynous form of both Mother Sva (female, also associated with Lada) and the fiery spirit Rarog (male).
Mother Sva and Rarog are always depicted in the forms of birds, one a white swan, the other a furious flaming phoenix like bird, who both spread a type of โlightโ throughout the world.
These two birds can be seen as the initial blast of solar power that came forth from the egg, giving โlifeโ and light to all.
These two birds then became Svarog and Lada (seen as brother and sister coming from the same source (egg) but also as husband and wife (post bird stage)
The story of Rod/Svarog emerging from the egg has so many similarities to the Orphic Cosmogony.
In the Orphic tradition the cosmic egg was created by Chronos.
Inside the egg was Phanes (also known as Protogonus, โfirst bornโ) the primeval God of creation and life.
Phanes was a God of LIGHT and goodness, whose name means โto bring lightโ or โto shineโ (remember Svarog's name also means โto shineโ)
He is light that came out of the dark oceans (pre egg phase).
Svarog then evolved into the creator of the material world, giving form to all.
He gained the title of the celestial smith and KEEPER of the BRIGHTEST CELESTIAL FIRE.
Svarog was given credit for creating the Sun, his son Dazhbog.
Who was always perceived lesser than his father.
Lesser in terms of solar power and size.
The association of Svarog with the brightest celestial light is so often made that I believe that he in fact was a Sun himself,
The brightest Sun.
Svarog is also credited with creating time and fathering the gods of Thunder, Wind, Fire, Sun, and others.
By being the father of these he himself possesses the power of each
Post creation phase he was a benevolent supreme sky father who provided his children with knowledge of agriculture, wealth, spiritual knowledge, knowledge of weapons and tools, high culture, essentially everything.
During his prime this realm was in a Golden age.
The people never shied away from asking their father for boons and gifts, and he never refused, always generously supplying his children with whatever they needed.
Post golden age we see Svarog essentially disappear into a sort of hibernation.
Nothing really dwells on how and why this disappearance happened.
This hole in the story always bothered me until I found out who Svarog really is.
Svarog is also associated with Svetovid, who is an aspect/form of Svarog.
Svetovid, is held to be the supreme ruler of the heavens and gods by the Polabian Slavs (Western Slavs).
He is the living light, one who gives light and warmth.
He, like Svarog and Rod, is associated with the penetrating sexual force that impregnates the earth/ their wife.
It is with his solar rays that he impregnates and animates nature (mother earth).
He is God's breath of life.
Every morning Svetovid RISES with his fleet of solar horses and rides towards his heavenly home (midday/highest point of the sun's travels),
to which the gates are opened by his daughter, the goddess of the dawn.
In graphic depictions Svetovid is riding on a pure white horse, equipped with a horn, a sword, and a bow.
He has four heads which look in all directions of the world.
The sword symbolizes his protection of the people and the protection of the universal laws (Pravda/Rta).
The horn in his hand symbolizes the abundance of his light, which is always pouring from this horn.
The horn is also sometimes shown to be a war horn, which Svetovid uses to compel all his people to action.
The bow and arrows symbolizes the rays of the sun (his penis) which he shoots (penetrates) at the earth.
His four heads hold a few meanings.
Mainly it symbolizes the reach of his magnificent light.
It also represents the four seasons of the year and the four states of the sun (time).
They represent the four cardinal points.
They represent the four times of the day, morning, afternoon, evening, night. The four ages of man, childhood, adolescence, maturity, old age (time).
Essentially he is the one who embraces everything.
At his heavenly home he stands atop of everything (the pole) observing all.
His day was TUESDAY,
on this day he was prayed to for the abundance of earthly fruits, gifts, and divine knowledge.
We see a God like Rod/Svarog among the Baltic Slavs called Dievas.
The Baltic Slavs held Dievas
(also known as Anday, God the Father, Nunadiev, Dievs, Diev, Daves, Dievas, Divs, Deiws, Dyeus)
to be the supreme sky father and chief of gods.
Dievas is also known by the title or name Prakorimas/Okopirms, which means roughly โthe most highโ and โthe first oneโ, signifying him being the first born God.
He is credited to be the creator of the material world and a guardian of the laws of the universe (Pravda/Rta).
Like all the other supreme gods of the Slavic pantheon he is associated with the brightest light and is often paired with the sun, either referencing that the sun is his daughter or bride (a lesser light)
In Baltic myth, Dievas is also associated with the god Teliavelis, a blacksmith god who crafted the sun for Dievas.
Teliavelis is essentially the creative force of Dievas, but in baltic myth he is represented as a separate god, and sometimes even called a devil for his skills.
Dievas is always mentioned together with his solar horses, on horseback or in a chariot, ascending and descending from his heavenly home.
He, Dievas the Sky Father, is always paired with his wife Zhemina, the earth, who each day he impregnates with his magnificent power.
Dievas is heavily associated with agriculture and the knowledge of agriculture.
In many legends Dievas takes the form of a plowman, sower, or guardian of the harvest.
Just like Svarog and Rod, he is stated to be a God who is NO LONGER active in participation with earthly affairs (disappearance, fall from power)
Essentially, if its not clear yet, All of these gods are one, The first Dyeus-Pater, the All-father, Prajapati in different forms/aspects.
The yolk in the egg and the emergence of the brightest light refers to the birth of a SUN, The FATHER-SUN Svarog/Svetovid/Rod/Dievas/Dyeus.
All of these gods have roots going way back to the Rigveda.
In the Rigveda we find Dyeus who is exactly the same as Dievas, always paired with mother earth, a first born creator god, father sky.
(also shares similarities with rod/svarog)
In the Rigveda we find the Solar God Tvastr who is essentially the same as Svarog.
Both are first born creators of the universe.
Both are celestial blacksmiths, who create and give form to all.
The ones who created Indra's/Perun's Vajra/Axe.
The relationship between Rod and Svarog is the same as the relationship between Tvastr and Vishvakarman.
Vishvakarman is a divine architect who essentially planned out what Tvastr built.
Just like Svarog is the material image of the invisible Rod, Tvastr is the visible form of invisible Vishvakarma.
Savitar who is an epithet of Tvastr has many similarities with Svetovid, both being associated with the sun's rays, calling people to action, gifts, upholders of universal law and more.
All of these Gods (plus a few more) combine to make the full, first born Dyeus-Pater, All-father.
So where did this guy go?
What happened to the brightest sun?
Where is it now?
Where is Svarog hibernating at?
I'll show you right now
and if you have a telescope you can even check it out with your own eyes.
Svarog/Svetovid/Dievas/Rod is Saturn,
who is the all-father and first born.
However, What you see now is the fallen and imprisoned Saturn/Svarog.
It is known that in ancient history the main and brightest sun was in fact the Planet Saturn, who was and still is a star.
โAs strange as it may seem, early astronomical traditions identify the "primeval sun" as the planet Saturn, the distant planet which the alchemists called the "best sun" and which the Babylonians, identified as the exemplary light of heaven, the "sun"-god Shamashโ
โ In archaic copies of Plato's Timaeus, the word for the planet Saturn is Helios, the "sun" god. Popular Greek traditions identified Saturn as Kronos, alter ego of Helios, and Kronos is said to have ruled "over the pole"
During the golden age Saturn/Svarog was fixed at the pole of the earth and โdid not move on its present remote orbit, but ruled as the central sun around which the other heavenly bodies visually revolvedโ.
It is here that he blessed his sun children with knowledge, life and gifts. Our current sun is already very majestic, now imagine the power and beauty of Saturn who was much greater than our current sun.
โA golden race of mortal men who lived in the time of Kronos when he was reigning in heaven. And they lived like gods without sorrow of heart, remote and free from toil: miserable age rested not on themโ
read Saturnian Cosmology by Jno Cook and other authors on this subject like David Talbott.
Now when you read that ancient Slavs were children of the Sun you know which Sun they were talking about.
In this thread I would like to present to you my dear reader a book by the name of โVeda Slavyan/Vedas of the Slavsโ which was written/compiled by Stefan Verkovich.
This book caught my attention because of
1) the knowledge that it held about the descendants of the Slavic people and
2)the rich songs which provide the reader with vivid descriptions of ancient Vedic customs and beliefs.
Upon further research I discovered more information about the initial 4 white clans on earth.
This will be a supplementary thread to Part 2.
Clarifying some things and adding new things.
The Slavs call the Heavenly inhabitants - Gods , and those Gods who live on Earth are called ะัะฐะผะธ/Asami (hence the image of the initial letter AZ - As and Earth, i.e. God living on Earth)
